I'm gonna assume that they are the same since all gen3 fogs share the same mounting tabs as well as the Yaris & a few other Toyota's.

Same question here: compatible replacement for 2012 Prius V5 OEM fogs.

If I were to proceed with this mod it would be to set them up as dual-purpose DRLs (the missing link) and fogs.

    MTQ Inc (Nokya retailer) states:

"Sorry we have not been able to determine if they fit yet. Perhaps you can check the part numbers on the V to see if they are the same. Here is the Toyota part numbers that our fog lights replace:
    Toyota Part Numbers 81210-0D042 (R) and 81220-0D042 (L)"

So, does anyone have the P/N for the Prius V fog lamps and do they match the above?

When we were shopping for my GF's Prius C, I had a chance to look at the V's fog lights close-up and they don't appear to be the same as the ones on 3rd gen Prius. They reminded me of the 2nd gen fogs. I could be wrong though, which I believe, are not the same (2nd gen being round instead of oval in shape).

Here's another option, though they aren't as high wattage as the Nokya nor do is it projector. However, they're only $83 so I'm going to give them a try. I'll talk to the place that's going to install my TRS quik-retro headlights in a few weeks, and make sure they'll leave the proper wiring setup there for me to do the actual install. Heck, maybe with the bumper removed, I can talk them into letting me install the fogs into the bumper while it's off the car.

Looks like an H11 fitting, but the lamp covers appear angled/canted on the housings. Might work on the Prius, but the Prius v Five fogs are perpendicular/flat/straight ahead, no angle/cant.

At only 6w total output per light assembly they would be only good for cosmetic purposes, and pretty much useless for DRL applications. The Audi/Philips LEDs are something like 6w each LED.

Be prepared to be very disappointed.

The Nokya are 600 lumens per side. Any guesses on the Audi/Philips?

Sorry, have no idea. However, a standard H11 halogen bulb outputs about 1200 lumens average.

Most fogs in the US are cosmetic these days anyway lol. I currently have some cheap projectors in there (yaris kit I bought on ebay) with HID, and when I have my headlights on, the fogs are pretty much non-existant in what I can see, even in foggy weather. This will give me a change and something else to see how it looks.

i thought fog lights are more dependent on color temp than brightness. on hidplanet, i remember reading a post about a guy saying that he couldn't see anything with 4000/5000k light. then he switched to 3000K and it was a complete night/day picture.

does it matter if you put 3000K bulbs vs tinting your lens with yellow on white bulbs?

I will install one of the many H-11 bulb replacements available as LED bulbs. This is an evolving technology, and the better bulbs may exist, we won't know without more people trying them. I purchased a set for Prius 5 and will install when the weather warms enough so I can lay uder the car without freezing.

I tried the H11 Cree 5w LEDs with 5050 SMD LEDs around the sides from China, in amber, which was better described as orange. Even though they had a "lens" they were disappointing. I have some pics up in another thread.

4300K is viewed as the optimal color temperature for lighting and visibility at any given power output.

Even for foggy or rainy situations? (in a 'fog light' application) I'd agree for headlight.. but not sure about fog light.

I've used Hella and Cibie, purpose-built/spec, fog and driving lamps on competition cars and they work well as designed for inclement weather and auxiliary lighting.

I think you'll find that the factory-installed lamps on most road cars are more of the nature of "auxiliary lighting" (supplemental to headlamps) for which 4300k is ideal, than they are "fog lamps" for which chromatic yellow is ideal, and which are not used with "white" headlights (but may be used with chromatic yellow headlamps).

The key words are "for any given power output," but yes, 3000K fogs improve visibility in adverse weather conditions on top of "white" headlights.

No, the backscatter from 4300K white headlamps overwhelms 3000K yellow fogs.

If you want to use this configuration, you need to use yellow headlamps and yellow fogs.
