Spent the last couple months researching the Prius, emailing many dealers and finally actually going inside and talking to a salesman at 4 locations.
Toyota of Concord- Very nice people. Had lots of knowledge about the car and were willing to haggle some over the price of car. Might have bought here but they didn't have exactly what I wanted.
Toyota of North Charlotte- Guys who do the test drive with you are very nice. Went through everything and knew what he was talking about. Problem came with the finance guy. Wasn't willing to haggle without many trips back and forth to his manager. And when we came to an actual price, during the paperwork he tried to add more costs to the car. I said no and walked.
Scott Clark Toyota- Will never set foot into again. Found the sales guy to be very pushy and became pretty rude when it looked like I wasn't going to purchase that day.
Town and Country Toyota- Loved these people alot. First started with emailing their internet department. Very friendly and knowledgable about the products and willing to haggle on price. Came in and did a test drive with a nice, friendly salesguy. He showed me the most stuff on the car out of all my visits. Eventually did buy a car from them and was happy with the entire process. They don't make money on commisons, so I think that helps the whole process. I would happily go and buy another car from them the next time.

Nice write-up. There was another guy ranting about Scott Clark and false advertising about the package levels of their used Prii. I thought at the end that the owner did try to correct the mistake and gave the guy a reasonable counter-offer. Now your report seems to agree with his opinions.

Let me know how the Town and Country Toyota service department performs. I have family in Charlotte and it would be nice to know a good service department if I were to need it while there. My niece in the Charlotte area has a Gen II Prius and I am pretty sure she takes her car to Town and Country. I need to check with her to verify.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your experience at Scott Clarks. I just hate it that one person made you uncomfortable by being pushy or rude....that is DEFINITELY not the environment we work so hard to create at this dealership! Our owner would have a fit about it!

The owner should be upset over it. I actually ended up going in twice to talk to the salesman about a certain car. Price went up on my second visit for some reason. I argued about that and after 3 trips to the back he came back with a number that was still $500 over what I had told him I was willing to spend. Then brought over the manager and they both double-teamed me and worked together to try and push me into purchasing. I still said no, and he still got very rude as I was walking away!
