Well, I'm referring to flush as opposed to sticking outside of the upper lip of the wheel well ;)
I'm sure that if you're going with a bigger size and heavier wheel package that you won't be as concerned with getting less mileage. It's a give and take. Or as Russel Peters says, "Take it and Go!" lol :D

I know what you mean, Drew. I just have a sneaky feeling that all of the little things like offset, tire choice, revs/mile, aerodynamics of the wheel, etc. are what contribute to the reduced mpg hit with OEM wheels vs. aftermarket 17s.

I'm trying to sort it all out so as to minimize the hit and maximize the style. :)

and I guess you mean things like this, [image attributed to 7Tune.com]

which is extreme, as this car is dropped about 4", and these rims are at least 18-19". For pure aesthetics I think I am leaning toward offset as a main operand for looks, I've even thought about just using spacers and basically stock 15". Whether or not that becomes an aero issue might for me be an aside.

I think Gen III have a flatter section with less rolloff in this area of the lower valance, so that might say something.

/\/\ actually that's tucked and not flush. I'm not into the stretched tire look and it does make the ride that much rougher. ;)

Yeah, the GenIII body helps to keep flowing air away from the lower part of the wheel so low offset wheels do not hurt as much. Here is a shot from the extreme side of the car where air would be flowing. :)

*The front left tire is turned out a bit otherwise it would be completely hidden in the wheel well. I was too lazy to get my keys and straighten it.

How did you get your headlight taillights uniform color like that? Did you special order them or did you paint the amber silver? Thanks for the prompt reply.

Where did you purchase the Prius 3rd Gen rims? Also, did you install shocks as well as your lowering springs? How is the ride quality? I know this comment is a bit outdated but I just wanted to say I love your look of your Prius.

I love the look on the classic silver. I'm going with a similar setup. 16 x 7 Drag DR9 wheels, 205/55 R16 Tires, and a H&R lowering springs. Merry Christmas to me. I'll post pics next week. How's the MPG?
