Correct. However, it's easier to do in Power or Normal mode.
It is focused on cold low speed driving environments and when the Prius has grill blocking.

 

I have a stretch of road not probably only about 2-4 minutes away from home when I leave that I take everyday. The speed limit on this stretch is 50 and traffic usually very light on it. In fact, traffic is usually even light enough to get away with a 45-35 p&g. That is probably fine on warm days but on cold days I should probably just stay around 47 mph to warm the engine properly. Does that sound correct?

 

I have just started using my lower grill blocking last week since the morning temps on Long Island have been in the mid 50s. I have also been driving my car like a normal car until I get to a light about .7 miles away to warm up the ICE. Since it's never green I am always sitting there waiting. Like clockwork the engine shuts off and I have EV. I try to use EV as much as I can, at that point, since it's only another .3 miles to the LIE (Long Island Expressway) entrance ramp. I know it will recharge the battery when I'm on the highway.

When I get to the highway I'm usually at 30 mpg. By the time I get to work (34 miles) I'm at about 61 mpg. Although the other day I was at 68 mpg because of the flow of traffic. You can't do too much P&G in the HOV during rush hour because they will run you off the road.

I guess my point is these numbers were typical of the numbers I was getting this summer. Since the temps have dropped I have compensated by grill blocking and being more aggressive when I start off to warm up the ICE quicker. There is more than one way to skin a cat!

 

This sounds correct, if you have enough road to go after the engine is warmed.
Otherwise, have a warm engine in a parked car, is not that useful. I would suggest you to experience different kind of driving and find out which is the best one.

holy crap! nice going. I thought my 74.1 tank was good (well it was for me) but I accidently reset it in the 400-500 mile range. doh. probably shut out from a 800 mile tank till next year

Great tank but unfortunately the rule is a minimum of 600 miles on the tank. With those numbers though you should have no problem getting on the list in short order.

 

So where are the 11. to 20. listings?
How much of a spent tank does it take to make it official?

 

All you need is at least 600 miles on your tank.

 

I would like to submit my attempt for a place in the rankings. This is the same tank that I submitted for the 700 Mile Club at 700 Mile Club | Page 4 | PriusChat.

During the South African summer month of November 2011 I used P&G between 70 and 55 km/h (44 to 34 mph) in town to obtain an indicated consumption of 3.8 l/100 km (61.9 mpg) on a tank over a distance of 1228 km (763 miles). The calculated consumption was 3.4 l/100 km (69.2 mpg). The tyres at the time were Bridgestone Turanza ER30 195/55R16 inflated to 290/280 kPa (42/40 psi) front and rear. This week I have replaced the worn Bridgestones with Michelin Energy Savers and so far it is looking very promising for an improvement on these numbers.

I'll need two weeks to hit the 600 mile mark. In the meantime, I have a one year old 62.1 / 610 tank that shows up on my all time list. I'll need a ruling. Is that enough evidence/proof?

 

I now wish I took a picture of my 620.7 mile / 64.1 mpg tank last year. This year's driving pattern isn't going to allow a repeat, will have to wait for next year.

I would vote yes on this picture demonstrating you acheived fuel mileage greatness and should be included on the list. It shows the MPG (62.1) and the distance (612 miles).
