if i buy 15's from them, can they transfer my TPMS to the new wheel? do i need to have the dealership reprogram it? or should i go to dealership and buy wheels from them? thanks
America's Tire is good company. They can tell you ahead of time if the can transfer your sensors to the new wheels. If they can, no need to reprogram. Your dealer is far more likely to screw up the job or overcharge you.
They can transfer your TPMS over to the new rims, but they will have to charge you for the "rebuild". It is actually a legitimate charge as there is some real work involved. The TPMS will function as normal once installation is complete, so no dealer visit will be necessary.
No, but the TPMS procedure is the same for all tire installers. The last 5 or 6 vehicles I have owned have been TPMS equipped, so I have dealt with this situation on numerous occasions. Good luck on your purchase, and be sure to post some pics of the results!
Smart move. No reason to throw tires away if they meet you needs. To expand on the TPMS rebuild kits a bit. The kit replaces the rubber parts in the TPMS. Back in the olden daze, you automatically got new valve stems when you got new tires, but since TMPS sensors cost $50 to $100 it makes more sense to just replace the rubber parts in them than replace them. No matter how new your TPMS sensor is, when they transfer it from you old wheel to a new one, the rubber seal will be disturbed and should be replaced.
