I was surprised to see people posting about shortages here in the forums. I spontaneously walked into a dealership this weekend and traded in my 08 Prius package 2 for a new Prius C package 3 (couldn't give up my smart key!). I'm totally loving it so far, the computer system in it is a nice upgrade over my gen II. Speaker system sounds better, and built in iPod connectivity is nice. Besides window tint I'm having a hard time thinking of after market upgrades that I want! Apparently I'll need to order a 2.1 entune upgrade USB key because the version that came on the car was 1.8.4. After that I understand the updates happen over the air?
Welcome to the Prius family. I noticed in Calif. that certain dealers will only bring one Prius C into the dealership until it is sold and others have 4 to 6 listed on their inventories. Don't know if Toyota gives priority to larger dealerships with more access to greater populations or if it is simply a dealer ordering situation? Anyway, enjoy your new C, there is something new to learn about it every day! Fun!
I know what you mean, I just read in another thread that the center arm rest slides forward. I never would have discovered that on my own. In terms of upgrades I'm thinking I'm going to add a back up cam and a homelink rear view mirror. Reading some walk throughs they seem like easy enough installs.
Congratulations! I waited 5 weeks - they are usually pre-sold here while in transit (or before that). It makes a difference too if someone is looking for a particular color/trim/feature set. Seems like most of the Cs sent to Washington were all the gray/white/black ones - the ones that (IMO) ward off the weather blues require some real patience. And I wanted a moonroof which seems to be a bit unusual for the allotments for the Northwest.
Ha, I had wanted one without a moonroof and couldn't find it over the entire state of CA. But now that I have it, I'll use it.
Archeo, I am totally not surprised by that on the moonroof front in CA. My family is in CA and I searched for cars down there and almost ALL of them had a moon roof! I toyed with the idea of flying down and driving a car back but decided to wait instead. I think there were more Cs in the Bay Area than in Washington, Oregon and Idaho combined!
Well I have put on just a little over 100 miles on my C3 in the first two days of ownership and I love it. I've been getting around 50mpg and that is Interstate and city driving combined. My Eco score has been from 55-60/100 My best friend who was with me yesterday mentioned how comfortable the ride was and how quiet the ride was. He got a kick out of what the car sounds like when you slow down to a complete stop and then start driving again. So far so good......very pleased.
Congrats!! I too spontaneously walked into a dealership and got one (well, I planned to get a c after extensive research on different cars, but didn't reserve this one or anything). I got the only c they had.
