I recently purchased a 2012 Prius and want to mount the license plate bracket. There appear to be two dimples in the bumper locating the points to drill holes for the bracket. What kind of material will I be drilling into? Thanks.
You don't really need to drill a self tapping screw should do just fine. The material is just the plastic bumper cover. Posted from my iPhone via the Tapatalk app.
There are self-tapping screws to attach the bracket, but you do need to drill 2 other holes--see install instructions attached below.
Why drill holes for screws that are to long, why not use a shorter screw? Why have four holes when you only need two, before you end up with a bumper cover that looks like mine? I wanted to cry when I took the plate bracket off. Just because something has instructions does not make it right, a little common sense goes a long way. To the OP seriously do you really want to put the plate bracket on your car? Unless you are required to have a front plate I would seriously reconsider mounting the front plate bracket.
