i hope this is the right spot for this question. so ive seen the stealth chip for gen II but nothing for the Gen III, any ideas if anyone is working on that ??
I could be weong on the naming, but i thiught that what it was called lol guess im wrong, but the chip that lets you go ev mode up to 34 mgh. Ive read that you can use it up to 2009, but havent seen anything for 2010 an up.
I wouldnt be surprised if it isnt available for the 3rd gen. That's just putting more stress on the battery.
Could you mean the EV mode switch mod for Gen2, to get the functionality already available in the non-US-market? If so, then our (Gen3) switch is already built in, but we are stuck with a different speed limit.
Don't apologize just yet, wait for a few more voices to chime in. Just because I might sound knowledgeable doesn't mean that I have it right. I never had a Gen2, so others that did might give a different, possibly even better answer.
Once the ICE starts, it needs to run at least some of its warmup cycle. But if you hit the EV switch before the ICE starts, then it can go into EV mode, depending on coolant temperature.
Speaking of which, do you know what temp coolant has to be in order for EV Mode to allow you to go up to 25 instead of ~15?
I believe it has to be fully warmed up; so about 70°C/158°F. To be able to enter EV mode before the warmup starts (which will always limit you to 10 mph), the coolant has to be at least 68°F or so.
