I am looking to buy one but dealers are asking for a significant premium for the car. Any ideas when Toyota will be able to ramp up production so that dealers are not in such a bargaining position? A 2k premium will take me years to make up in terms of the improved mileage.
My dealer gave me money off MSRP. Suggest you shop around if you are in an area where that is possible.
Yeah - they tried to charge me MSRP and I walked out the door. Literally recieved a call right when they opened the next morning and they were able to sell it to me at MSRP and eat the loss on my 2010 Prius Lease (I was 2000 miles over my 3 year lease agreement with a year still to go on the lease - so it amounted to several thousand dollars). Shop around - you should not need to spend a premium to get one.
