My high score in my 2009 Prius Five was 102,200 miles at 46 MPG. Then a Semi tractor - trailer ran a red light and drug me down US 82 Monday night. Today I have a 2012 Prius v Three. And I am new again. (I tried to convince myself to get a PIP, but I need the space)
I was making a north to westbound left turn on green at an ugly intersection at 9 PM coming home from the theatre, the westbound semi ran the red. (speed limit 45 MPH) I was clipped by the trailer's driver-side tires, at the rear of the truck. (Which did not stop, all the witnesses focused on me, not on getting the license of the truck) Starting on my passenger rear door there were scrapes, the front passenger door was caved in and the front passenger fender was ripped off. (with the passenger side mirror) I had no passengers. I was covered in tiny slivers of glass as the windshield flexed, and my left wrist hurt a bit from continuing to control the car. The nice Police Officers drove me home once they saw me try to take my Fob off my keyring. us 82 and sycamore greenwood MS - Google Maps
Well.... All us Gen2 drivers will certainly miss your enthusiasm and wisdom.... I guess it's inevitable that we all end up in a GenIII or v sooner or later!
Glad you're OK! Very sorry to hear about the wreck... (they never found the driver??? ) Glad you seem to be OK though! Cars can be replaced. Welcome to the next level! It's always interesting to hear how G2 drivers like/dislike their G3s. Now...about that avatar pic.... It'll be interesting to see how much more cargo you can stuff into the v-model.
It seems like "Hit and Run" is the newest trend nowadays! Glad to hear you are OK! This further reinforces my opinion that some sort of video camera recorder is a good idea in cars. It will at least give you a chance of cutting your losses, and placing them on the shoulders of the ahole than ran you over! Hope the v works out for you!
I do not expect to quit pontificating about the Gen 2. You know, they never found Jimmy Hoffa either, if I knew who he was, the semi driver might still not be found. I have not yet worked a day in the v, maybe Wednesday. I hope to better organize the v, everything was jammed in the Gen 2. I need to find a cargo mat that assumes the back seats are always down.
Maybe your first mod could be removing rear interior and backseat and fabricating custom tool boxes with diamond plate paneling?
Glad you are okay Jimbo, I know you loved your old car, enjoy the new one. Posted from my iPhone via the Tapatalk app.
And, apparently, fresh zest. Glad that he's OK. Mississippi needs more Priuses (it's a pity they aren't already assembling them).
Really glad you are OK and were not seriously hurt. Nice upgrade though... so the perp gets off the hook eh?
When I finished paying off the Gen 2, I 'moved' the car payment to pay down the principle on the mortgage on the house. Now I have moved it back to car payments.
