just find a kit on ebay. it's super easy. brand name isn't really a factor. they all probably come from the same factory in China anyway.

I bought small panels from eBay and made my own - took no time at all, and was only about $20.

    Like this and this.

I'm not sure how long mine have been in, but it's bright as a football stadium at night, and I've had no problems. I did solder multiple units for the map lights and center dome light. But, the $20 also includes the vanity mirror lights, trunk light, and door puddle lights.

    I think there's a total of 204 LEDs

Interesting... Can you give us more details? What do you mean when you say "panels" What does that have to do with lights?

Also how long did it take to convert everything?

How much further do you have to go?

    What are the biggest challenges?

How do you decide what wattage/amperage LED to replace each incandescent with?

Honestly, cheap LEDs from ebay are good enough if theyre just for the interior.

That works. Just know that it doesn't include the vanity lights.

I initially tried the same map lights (as seen in the video), but wasn't happy with them - not bright enough, and went to 2 12-SMD panels on each side. I use those LED map lights fro my license plate.

The 6-SMD festoon bulb for the dome light might not have the same brightness as the 2 48-SMD units is used (96 LEDs in the dome light)

has anyone noticed any difference in the range or response of the key fob after this LED conversion? I added a LED dome to my 4runner and noticed that when the dome was set to "auto" my fob range diminished and it took several clicks to get all doors to unlock- when i set the dome to "off" the problem went away - i have no idea how one could be related to the other but it didn't take long after i swapped the dome to notice the difference in fob performance, and sure enough, when i turned off the dome the problem went away (i could unlock my truck from a block away). Just curious if anyone has experienced anything like this. thanks.
