Out of interest, has anyone found a use for that tiny space? I can't think what I'd put in there. I must say, the numerous small storage spaces is one of the biggest things I miss about my old Corolla. The c has lots of open nooks to put things but a distinct lack of little compartments.
And there is no convenient place in the C to put loose change without it sliding around and making an awful noise when you turn a corner.
Hmmm... I was keeping the power cord to my phone charger there, but I guess I could move the charger to the glove box or that covered area between the seats.
Biggest thing for me to hide is the tickets used in parking stations. Most that I use have a free period which I'm normally well within. I know I *should* take them with me regardless, but I'm used to leaving them in the car. Also my garage door opener fob... that now lives in one of the cup holders. It needs to be convenient but I'd rather it was hidden. Oh and the little pencils from IKEA... used to keep a couple in the Rolla's ashtray.
I hide stuff in the console false bottom... I am thinking about putting felt over it so that you can not see the finger groove.
Great idea! Thanks. Edited to add: Glad to see your MPGs going up with each fill. IIRC - you had problems with your C early on.
It certainly is - I have a goal now that each time I drive I want the "Current trip" to be above 50MPG. My current tank is at over 200 miles and is sitting at 57.3 MPG That is mostly 55MPH highways and city.
That's great MPG. I almost never get more than 52 MPG per trip and 420 per tank - according to the car - Fuelly tells a different, and more accurate, story. Strangely - as I approach 5000 miles (gotta go in for service tomorrow) the MPG - as reported by some - seems to be getting better. Break in? I don't know but I hope it stays on an upward trend. I'm hoping to break 50 mpg on Fuelly in a few more tanks. Had a couple bad tanks (one where there was a utility knife blade in my tire). Amazing how a couple bad MPG tanks can pull the average down.
I think the false bottom under the center console is great for hiding a little cash... it's well known to car thieves I'm told, but that's a perfect spot for an extra twenty or two for emergency moneys. SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 ? 2
