My Gen iii four has a small light that shines down from ceiling and illuminates the shifter area. Can this light be turned off while driving?

It's an LED. I guess if you pull down the overhead console from the headliner you could cut wires etc. I'm not familiar with how everything looks up there once removed. The light bothers you that much? I realize it's all personal preference but I quite like the soft glow it illuminates around the shifter.

Just pull down the overhead console & disconnect it.

Small square of duct tape will easily solve the problem. No disassembly required.

A little pre-chewed bubble gum will do the trick.

It's a good place to store your gum when your jaw gets tired of chewing.

How about installing a miniature push button switch. Push, it's on, push, it's off!

There have been times that I felt that the light was a bit too bright as well. It distracts on a dark road when you look out that passenger side.
