Display says i have only used 5 gal of gas, but i only have two blips left on my gas gauge. Something has to be wrong.

Wonder if something is wrong with my tank.

Does the trip odometer match from when you fueled up, provided you reset it? Maybe you inadvertenly did a reset mid-tank?
Bisco, he says he's done 7 fuel ups on his Fuelly report.

Yea I got plenty of fill ups. One thing I have noticed, when I fill up, there always seems to be one blip on the tank that never lights up.

    Mileage this morning.
    457 Miles
    EV 35% 160 miles
    HV 65% 296 miles

Says I have used 5 gal of gas. Yet I only have 2 blips left on the gas gauge. I know the gauge only reports 8.5 gals and saves 1.5 gal in a "reserve" Basically when that last blip starts blinking, you have 1.5g left.

But this just doesn't seem right.

so 2 pips might mean 3-4 gallons meaning you have used 6-7? 5 could be 5.9? i wonder if the gauge/sensor is off, causing 9 pips only or if you're not filling all the way?

Most I have been able to put in during a fill up was 8.17 I have tried turning car off and fueling with no power, but still only get 9 pips on the gauge.

Does your gauge go all the way Full? Meaning the pip next to Full is lit up?

yes, i always (twice) get all 10 pips. and i believe my fill ups have been 8.something. i'll have to check the spreadsheet. i'd say if you always get 9, you probably should have them take a look at it. just checked, 8.6 and 7.8 gallons at fillup. i'm down to 2 pips now.

I usually fill up after the last pip has started blinking. I typically will put in between 8.5 and 9 gallons, depending upon how much more I drive before filling up (anywhere from 10 to 30 miles). After filling up, I always have 10 pips lit. Typically when the EV/HV screen shows that 8 gallons have been used is when the last pip on the gas gauge will start blinking. Sadly that screen doesn't show the decimal place, so I don't know if when it says 8 gallons used, whether it's 8.0 or 8.9 gallons.

Filled up this weekend with 8+ gals and all 10 pips are lit up for the first time on the gas gauge.

I will keep an eye on it, but looks correct now.
