So I'm looking at the FFH or energi and some of the features they have are lane keep assist, blind spot indictor and radar assist cruise control. Does or will the PIP have these features?

The advance model has Radar cruise control, but no lane keep assist, or blind spot indicator.

The Advanced PiP I have has a built in blind spot indicator. I call it a neck.

I have an advanced PIP without the blindspot indicator. Was this an option, or third party feature?

Point being that the "Blind spot indicator" is a standard feature on the driver, but is not available on the car. :)

Why the car doesn't have it, I don't understand. I can understand that they could have been concerned about the weight and cost of putting servos on the steering mechanism to implement lane-keep, but they already have the radar in the Advanced for the DRCC.

Blind spots are actually a result of how a driver positions their sideview mirrors. Frequently, drivers position the sideview mirrors view such that they overlap with the rearview mirror view. Instead, if you position them so they don't overlap, the sideview mirrors show you the "blind spots". Don't take my word for it; this is from the Society of Automotive Engineer (SAE):

The above article doesn't really explain how to adjust your mirrors, so:

IMO, the Prius Plug-in did the right thing by not including blind spot sensors, as this adds needless weight if the mirrors are positioned properly.

The video in the second article explains it perfectly! I guess I was old school, having my car in the side view mirrors gave me a false sense of security. No need to see my car in the side view mirrors since it's not going to hit me, lol
