    Hi all,

Does anyone know if the Prius Plug-in (Gen IV) will be available in late 2013 / early 2014 ? or is it going to be available in 2015 ?

I am asking because my current PRIUS 2011 lease is ending in May 2014 ? and I might decide to go with the PRIUS Plug-in (Gen 4) when it is available in late 2013.

    Thanks,
    Dan

I don't think you'll see the Gen IV until (again, my guess) 2016 model year, maybe early like June 2015.

I don't think you're going to see much of a change to the PiP for 2013 over the 2012. Evan past that, it'll probably be very similar, maybe they'll offer less options to price it even lower but that may be about it. Basically, any major changes to the plug-in Prius won't happen entil the next Generation (Gen IV) which again will probably be mid 2015.

No one knows for sure but my advice would be to forget about it until closer to May 2014. I doubt we'll see the next gen prior to the 2015 model year.

As an aside, I'm debating as to whether I should lease or buy my PHV this fall/winter. If I lease I can be like you, return the car and upgrade ;) If I buy, I can wait and choose when I want to buy again, like I did with my 08.
