Has anyone installed aftermarket heated seats? My wife and I purchased a C3 and would love to get those in our car Suggestions/brands/etc.? We live in Central Illinois - 2 hrs south of Chicago.
Yes and they are much nicer than the seats in the 4. We had them installed in Cape Girardeau, Mo. South of St. Louis about 100 miles, on I-55. They came to our home, picked the car up with a hauler, then delivered it when done. Price was 1189.00. I have pictures if you want to see them. Dan
Oh wow! I didn't know the price would be that expensive... maybe i'll just have to get the cheap plug-in ones to the car volt charger Would love to see pics anyway though!!
I hope so too. I like to do little things on my car, but I really try to keep my hands away from safety features though.
I bought a heated cushions from amazon for $20 ! Since we have 2 cars, I can install it on either one in less than a minute.
We had aftermarket heated seats (cloth, which we liked better than the leather) installed in our Prius V. The controls are on the seat, and not the dash. Given that it is summer, we haven't done much more than turn them on to confirm they worked (which they did.)
I got mind at Ziebart in Fort Wayne, IN using the seats that came with the car for $300 at the same time I had the rust protection package and the windows tinted. The switches are in the center console.

I installed them in the black Prius pictured in my profile. I paid a little over $50 for two seats worth of heated pads (amazon or ebay). They heat the seat bottom and seat back. They were carbon fiber elements so they were supposed to last but I only had the car for 2 years. never had a problem. The seats come out of the car easily for installation of the pads. I removed the material from the seats without too much trouble (and hour or so of fumbling), and then had a friend do the wiring for me. never had a problem. Bought him a case of beer for the help. So, $75 invested. I want to do it again for the 2012 I just bought but I'm not sure where to tap into the power myself. I want to do the back seats as well.... Hope someone will chime in with a suggestion.
you can get them from Clazzio leather seat covers website. Didn't see it as an option in the Priuschat shop. That's what I'm planning to do with my C3. Haven't figure out the color for the leather yet, might go black and red.
