My wife had prius (2007) today, and when she braked and turned right it started to beep, just like putting revers in. It happened 3 times for her. I tried to make it happen but didn't make it.

I have no error codes on Torque and no warning lights, fluids seems to have right level.

Any suggestions where to look for upcoming problem?

    /Chris

It's because your Prius is liberal and it can only go right so much. You need to start turning left more often!

I assume when you say the fluids are at the right level, that includes the oil? Very low oil level could cause what she experienced, but it sounds like you already checked that.

Yes, checked oil but just pulled stick up and it was oil at right level, didn't clean and dip again. Will check again if it can make that happen.

I have a feeling that my 12v battery is going bad, engine will not shut off when it should all the time, some times, sometimes not. Still have no "clear battery problem" and voltage in the morning is ok, but I read that it can make strange things happen.
Will change before winter and charge tomorrow...

Maybe something to do with EV mode or the trigger for it shorting out? Did the beeps happen right after she stepped on the accelerator? Because beeps like that can indicate EV mode being canceled?

No, I don't think she knows how to set it in EV mode and she said she braked when turning to make sound. But it is a good guess, sound is about right.

You have to clean the oil dipstick and then put it all the way back in and then check it. May be very low.
Or you have some weight on the passenger seat and your getting ther seatbelt beep.

Quite right, otherwise the oil level on the dipstick is the very highest point of sloshing while the car was moving. Not at all an accurate measure.

Oil level was just below top level.
Battery voltage in the morning was 12,15V and 11,70 after 2 press on power no brake.

Passenger seatbelt beep was a good tip, she had camera bag there but it might be 3 kg / 6 pound, thats a little on the safe side of the prius...

I doubt that the 12V battery is the cause of the problem noted by the OP's wife. I suggest that all items be removed from the passenger front seat - or fasten the seat belt there.

Nevertheless, it would be a good idea to replace the battery before the winter season, as a preventive measure to avoid no-start problems. If original, it is already 5-6 years old.

I would think its the bag on the passenger seat. Got round a bend, the weight shifts and beep, beep, beep. Straighten up and it stops. Happens to me if I put groceries on mine sometimes.

It didn't happen when you went out as you were either sat on the passenger seat or the bags had been removed.

The seatbelt beeper is very sensitive.

Alright, sounds like the good kind of problem, thats ain't no problem (kind of stupid, but no biggie), I drove it for +100km today and no beeping (y)

Charging battery now, will change it as soon as I remember to measure the size of it.

    Thanks all!

Next time it beeps for her have her look at the HUD indicator light right in front of the pass seat. The one all the way to the right on the HUD. It says Seatbelt and will flash along with the beep if that's the problem.

Coworker had same problem with small suitcase. Only she listened to it beep for 300 miles. All the way home....

Is the yellow skid light coming on while the beeps happen? If so, that's the sound of stability control kicking in. Perhaps she's taking a turn too fast or hitting bumps while taking turns?

Do you have mismatched tires (i.e. 1 or more tires are a different size)?
