2010 rear wheel bearings

    So I just turned 100k a couple weeks ago and now I think my rear wheels bearings are going I have a loud noise coming from the back of the car. I think its coming from the drivers side.

    so where to go to get the best prices on replacements and how bad of a job is it to replace?

    Appreciate feedback

    One other thing is it seems like there are hub assemblies and bearings which way to go??

    This is what I use to find bad wheel bearings. Jack the car up. Spin the wheel. Probe the back side of the hub. Compare left to right sides. Amazon.com: Lisle 52500 Mechanic's Stethoscope: Automotive

    Does the noise change when going from pavement to concrete? If it is constant it is wheel bearing. If the pitch changes it may be a bad tire.

    The job is REALLY easy. After removing the rotor, all you need to do is remove the 4 bolts and disconnect the electrical connector holding it in. It's a job that you can do in about 30 min if you are working fast.

    On the way to work a couple of days ago, I heard a crack and then the snap, crackle and pop of a rear wheel bearing. When I got to work, I jacked up the left rear wheel and spun it. Nothing. I got on my hands and looked underneath. A large twig jammed itself into the plastic wheelhousing and was dragging on the street. It sounded just like a bad wheel bearing.

    OP, what is your general location? Another member had his rear wheel bearings go out prematurely and thought it might be because of the damp, salty location. I will try to find the thread... [edit] here it is.

    Well I ended up replacing the passenger rear wheel bearing I was surprised how rusted the part was already but I guess it was to be expected in Michigan

    Well I taled it over with my mechanic and there was hint of an issue on the other side so I will haold off until next month to do so
