Hello all! I have an appointment for 35% tint all around next week on the prius C. My question is 1) do you think i should get the rear hatch darker? and 2) should i get the front window strip? I dont think im going to get the front window strip, but im back and forth about getting the rear hatch tinted darker and the side windows 35%. Thanks for any thoughts!
I did a 20% strip on the windshield and love it since the sun visors don't cover everything, much easier on the eyes. I did 45% on all the other windows and think it's perfect. With the factory glass already blocking some light it puts it around 30% with the tint. SGH-T989 ? 2
I got 5% (limo) on the hatch back and rear windows, 15% on front and 70% on the full windshield. They look pretty nice on my Super White. It's not hot inside when directly under the sun in summer for 8 hours with ALL around tinted windows + nice "heatshield" I bought from PriusChat Shop here. If you want cooler you can go 10% on front and 50% on the windshield.
Stay legal for sure...it's an expensive time consuming lesson if you get a ticket for illegal tint. The PoPo here in NC have little hand held tint meters that quickly and effectively measure whether your tint is legal. In NC they write tickets all the time for illegal tint to the tune of $125.00. Talk about revenue collecting yikes! For what it's worth.

I wish I had gotten the windshield strip. 35% on the back is good enough because it's so dark back there already... do not know if cops would check that, but better safe than sorry SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 ? 2
I had 35% fronts, 20% for the rest. Did the windshield strip too at 20%. I agree the windshield strip looks a little tacky (thought it'd be more fading prior to the installer putting it on), but it really does work well - so it's function over form for me on that way.
I always do the front windows legal, for Missouri. Here the rears can be as dark as wanted. I get them dark so I can leave things in the rear floor that folks can not see from outside. Just got our's done yesterday. I love the look and hope they help keep the leather seats lasting longer. 200 bux. Dan
