I didnt ask the dealer but have not found it yet. But do they have a dashmat cover for the C, i like to keep it looking nice and help it from getting warped.
Good question, I'd like to know as well. I'm assuming it will have to be aftermarket and will take a while for accessory makers to put one out. Seems like toyota uses good materials for their dash as the dash on my 05 Corolla S, has never been covered up or protected at all and it survived 7 Las Vegas 110+ degree summers and not a single crack or warp, still looking good as new.
San Diego heat generally shouldn't be so bad that a dashboard in a modern car would have a problem. If it gets that warm it wouldn't be a bad idea to simply have a windshield screen to block the sun and keep the car cooler! PS We're living in Minnesota but lived in San Diego for 12 years... Missing it badly!
Ok, it has been some time now since this thread was posted. I have seen a photo of a dash cover in a C. So, where are yall buying these? Dan
My salesman ordered one for me gratis for picking up the car on day he called me. It's Dash Design DashKing or something - I'll go look at the box later and repost. More info below - I have never fastened down the dashcover with the provided Velcro strips - it's just sitting on the dash. Thanks. I just did a search on DashKing but they said no Prius C. Maybe the website is not updated. When you let me know, I will see what I can find. Dan
I bought mine here and I am very happy with it. Dash Design You'll have several choices of colors and materials. Hope this helps.
+1 for GruveeGuru- that's the company that made mine. My salesman ordered it so I guess Servco Toyota in Hawaii buys these.
Alright. I knew you guys would come through. Great bunch of people hang around this forum. Will get one ordered from these people today. Dan 10 minutes later: It is a done deal, ordered. Thanks again for everyone's assistance.
It came with velcro adhesive strips that stick to the dash and connect to tabs connected to the cover.
Thanks to Nick Lechner re: My question on fastening the mat. Thanks to GruveeGuru for linking photo of his dash mat.
The dash cover seems like a good price. However I'm NOT putting Velcro on my dash do you guys & gals think it will be ok with out the Velcro? I also live in PA would it be a good idea to eat one?
We used velcro on the Vibe dash. I figure we will do the same on the C. I like it because we can lay something on the dash and not worry about it falling or sliding. I take the one off the Vibe to clean the dash and it has helped keep it looking new. Don't figure we will ever need to get the velcro off as will leave the pad on. But, if we do, it will clean off pretty easy with some cleaner. Dan
I tried using the mat without Velcro at first, but when accelerating, the mat would begin to slide off. I just cut the piece of hook and loop tape in two and put each half on the dash closest to the windscreen on the further most edge of the passenger and driver sides. It holds beautifully. I opted for the lighter silver grey that also matches the interior, over the charcoal which might have looked better, because I thought the darker color would retain more heat. BTW, you're welcome ewaboy
I don't follow what did youndomtoget it to stay? Yeah I was going to go with the other color but I figured the black would match better idk now I'm kind of regretting this lol
