Which S3 is it ... what carrier. I heard the T Mobile 1 worked? I'd be interested in knowing if the Cyanogen 10 ROM works or not - bummer, I was hoping to buy a phone where all the stuff (mainly e-mails and text) worked out of the box
    Thanx again,

Sorry, I can't resist :) : If you wanted a phone where e-mail and text just work out the box, you would get a Blackberry. Contact list with pictures and multiple e-mail sources and SMS just worked, using Bluetooth. I know Blackberry is criticized as a one-trick pony, but if that one trick is important to you...

Can't do that! It's either android or iphone, you know that ... blackberry and widows mobile both seem to be dead. Even all my corporate nerds who run all our IT dept have switched ... a long time ago... that's gotta say something. Plus I need a big screen as I'm used to a 4.3 inch and once you get used to that it's hard to go smaller. I did know Blackberry worked for that feature ... thought the other Entune stuff was screwed up however - kind of irrelevent
    thx

Actually, the e-mail/texting/phone functionality has nothing to do with Entune. These use core OS features; no need for the Entune app for that. And the Entune apps actually work just fine on my Blackberry.

I'm not trying to preach Blackberry here, but when someone has a problem on other platforms in the one area where the Blackberry is actually a top performer, I can't help mention it. :)

Wow, pretty cool! At least there is one phone where ALL the stuff works!!! I'm ready to upgrade my technology, but it seems bb would be going backwards ... BUT thanks I appreciate your comments and would probably go buy a bb if all the other phones weren't light years ahead on all the other stuff.

Samsung must be doing something right. They have sold over 10 Million Galaxy S-III's, and just announced a $5.9 billion operating profit for Q2 2012.

Actually the issue is with the Bluetooth profiles supported by the device. Samsung doesn't make good drivers. AOSP is the best you can get so everything works on those builds. Hence cyanogen working with everything.

I am on Sprint, but that doesn't matter, the Bluetooth profiles will be the same across all carriers.

Bielinsk, it seems this guy on this review has the at&t s3 text feature working out of the box ... I know you seem pretty technology oriented (so don't take this the wrong way), but maybe you just need to play with some of the settings on your S3 to get it to work?

No initial problems for me using Entune with a Galaxy SIII via Verizon.

Great . . . . email reading while driving. Might as well have the playboy channel piped onto the MFD.

You should learn what it does before you comment. You can't read text while driving, it's black, but the car can read it to you

( sigh ) I'll have you know sonnie - any Prius mod'r worth there salt can get the prius to do anything . . . What - you never heard of disconnecting the speed sensors? - you never heard of the 'dice' over-ride kit? Maybe YOU should learn what the Prius can do.
    ;)
Sorry - couldn't resist. But yea - us tinkerers have had the display doing tons of stuff it was never intended to do - for years & years. Some folks on PC run multiple displays not that I approve of some of the goings on. Looks like someone's got some catch-up reading to do.

(Sigh) My response was appropriate to your post and to any prius you buy off a lot.

Your response is not appropriate. You can trick out your ride to do anything you want, but stock, it does not allow you to brake the law.

He'll stock you can't type a phone number on the hu.

Not sure what the"sonnie" was for but if it makes you feel like a better person, go for it.

it was meant as humor, as most understand the little wink & smile smilies indicate the writer's engaging in a bit of toung in cheek - not course/rough dialoging. I apologize for thinking that'd be ok.

Did you ever get text to be read on the HU? I just got my SIII and it did not work. The phone did ask me for permission for message transfer when I first paired it to the car, which I gave, but nothing happens when a text comes in.

Also, some of the contact's phone numbers are garbled up in the HU.
