^^ Seriously - what he just said. I went to the dealership with my snowboard in my car liftback and told them - If this does not fit, that is a deal breaker. It fit (just barely) with the seat down and positioned at an angle. Nothing really wrong with the vehicle - only thing wrong is your expectations (and Entune - what a crap system, find new flaws with it all the time).

Thanks for all your input, you guys all have good points and as I said I paid the price for my mistake literally. It was only meant to help those who were in my position and had not yet decided. If we had to stay in the C we would have done and made it work. I did make the C sound worse then it really was gas mileage very impressive although I'm surprised I have achieve 65 to 70 on 15 to 20 mile commutes in the lift back. Which I did not think was possible. Dash position is better in the C and I do think the seat material itself will last longer than the cloth of the lift back(no leather:( one think I don't miss is the engine noise when the engine is warming up or merging on the freeway. Thanks again for all you input. I do wish I had test driven the lift back. I was so set on the C I missed the opportunity to save myself some trouble.

Sorry you had to go through all that trouble! To each his own, I guess.

***I noticed a lot of people complaining about the nav screen on the upper trim levels. I found on my test drive that if you go to display settings, hit general, bump contrast all the way down, and brightness all the way up, there seems to be somewhat of reduced glare. Again, this isn't a very expensive head unit so don't expect a dramatic change... Just a quick fix if you don't/can't tint your windows like me

My only issue with the Prius C is the somewhat anemic torque, but it's not such a deal breaker considering the trade off is mpg!

Are you saying that when you floor the accelerator, it's not enough for 99% of your needs? If you're talking about part-throttle, the pedal is calibrated for gentle transitions, not disproportionally neck-snapping response [e.g. Chrysler Sebring et al]

I'm used to taking the lead using the far right lane and jumping ahead when the light turns green at an intersection, if I don't time it right I usually get out accelerated by the other car in the adjacent lane. Though, I'm able to bob'n'weave through LA traffic a lot easier due to the smaller size of the PC. ;)

Perhaps it'll eventually change your driving style, and you'll soon realize that you don't need to accelerate that quickly away from a stoplight? ;)
(But perhaps that technique really helps trip time in LA traffic--around here, I usually catch up with everyone who sped up by the next stop light)

I wonder if the glare is height related? I have had no problems with the glare on my nav screen, but I'm 5'3"

A bad decision carried forward is better than 10 decisions half-implemented. Thanks for sharing your experience in the forum. Deciding on a car is one of the more difficult choices given all the factors involved. Sometimes you have to make a leap before truly understanding something.

In my case, I spent 18 months car shopping and poring over all the reviews I could read. I had the luxury of not needing a car, so I could take my time. I often wonder how my C would work with a kid (should I suddenly get a family...lol) and now I have a better idea.

My friends ask me a lot of questions about car buying because they know about my extended research. I've been giving the advice that they may not need as big a car as they think and that they can "make due" with smaller. I might re-think that advice and take a closer look at what their needs are before offering an opinion.

My euphoria is fading also a bit with each payment...
I still love the car though and I'm still very happy with the decision. I do find the lack of power to be a bit of a drag sometimes, but the MPG makes up for it. The handling makes up for the lack of power too and the 0-30 mph times are as good or better than most of the cars in the city where I drive. That makes a huge difference in making city traffic moves.

I'm single and live in the city and that seems to be the best match for a Prius C.

I have two young kids, both in car seats, but front facing. The car is for me to commute to work, and occasionally take the kids somewhere. I never need the stroller as we rarely use them these days and I can get the umbrella stroller in if I need it. My wife drives a Sienna and when we go anywhere significant with the family, we take that.

I have 2000 miles on the car now and have had no issues with the ride quality, but I'm coming off of a GT Mustang.

Entune sucks. As said above... Not why we bought the car, never intended to pay for it when the free trial runs out.

Get your wife a bigger car to drive with the baby. Use the Prius for solo trips or date night.

I use to live around L.A. Its not really an different than any where els when it comes to traffic lights. Well the motorcycle lane splitting takes a few weeks to get use too but other than that its the same.

I have over 4,600 miles on my pc4 and still look for excuses to take it out for a ride. I am single with 2 small dogs that travel in the back with the seats down. The ride is enjoyable to me. If I need more room I use my Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab. This is a great commuter and grocery getter. I recently updated Entune and it is still an unreliable nightmare. The Entune feature utilized with my iPhone 3GS is a huge disappointment to me, but the idea seemed great. I hope that Toyota continues to improve Entune, it needs a major overhaul, and is currently an embarrassment to Toyota. I am loving my Pri C despite the Entune fiasco. By the way I think 50 mpg rocks! ;)

I can get it to work, but it is not at all intuitive. Yesterday for example, I was listening to Pandora using Entune, and the iPhone connected via cable. Suddenly it became quiet, and the nav screen stated that it was no longer connected to the Internet. I made sure the cable remained intact, and saw that I had 3 bars and 3G showing I had decent reception. I tried several times to reconnect while also trying to not get so distracted from driving. I eventually switched to bluetooth to run Slacker radio (awesome app) but it would not play until I shut off Entune. Entune should be able to run while running a Bluetooth app such as Slacker, but sadly this has not been my experience. Source modes for audio seem to be delayed when the phone is plugged in like it's trying to decide if it should play the iPod source or BT source so it skips back and forth causing short annoying bursts of music until the problem is resolved. How it resolves is still a mystery to me, sometimes it does it on its own or sometimes it resolves when I use the mode button to switch through the source options. I really hope it's something I am doing wrong. If it works great for you maybe something I've stated here will clue you in on how to help me resolve my issue with Entune. I'm holding out hope that Entune may yet be salvaged . BTW I have a Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle), and a Havanese Terrier.

I haul around my grand kids occasionally. :) The 6 yr old sits in a booster seat behind me. I'm 5'3, so my seat is up a bit and there is plenty of room for his legs and feet. The toddler is in a forward facing baby seat, behind the passenger seat with no issues. Their 14 yr old sister sits up front with me and, of course, with her seat slid back. The little ones seem very comfy and their Bag O Paraphernalia fits great in the "trunk" area. The 14 yr old has been uncharacteristically interested in my c... suppose she thinks her Granny will give it to her someday?

I guess i wont be much help as i have never used pandora. Im too cheep/poor to have the kind of data for it:(

I do have the problem of the ipod starting when plug it in. There is a good chance it is apple not entune. Apple has a long long history of not playing well with others. the other thing to keep in mind is that we have the base unit of entune so that may also be some what of the problem.

p.s. Havanese are pretty rare (y)
    But WWWAAAAAYYYYYY to small :)
