Hello all. I am selling my 4KW Enginer Plug-in kit set up for a 2004-2009 Prius. I have taken my Prius in a different direction and no longer need the kit. See the plug-in mod forum. The kit is fully Functional. The kit was purchased if Feb. 2011. Still has 1 year of warranty. The cells are very well balanced. 4KW Real Force Batteries Bms upgraded to 3.3v I also added a Mini BMS to keep the cells well balanced. I live in Sandy Utah. If you are local I am willing to help you install. I will take $2000 for the kit plus shipping. I will ship it UPS or truck freight. If you would like the MINI BMS board I will be asking another $150, Retails for $230. Send me a PM or Email if interested Chris
hi chris, excuse my series of questions... but i was interested in your plug in kit? does it include everything needed to convert a normal 07 prius into a plug in? i wouldn't know where to even start with install.. also how much mpg would/have you average from this? how long of a drive can it (miles) last? top speed? how long it takes to charge? thank you
The kit comes with the everything you need to install the kit. I had it in my 2005 Prius, so it is ready to go in your 2007. The kit comes with a CD that has video and PDF Installation manual. IF you need info on the kit you should visit the Enginer web site. Read the forum to see what kind of average mileage people are getting. It will be easier than me tying to explain the whole system and how it works. Here is a link. Enginer | Solar Powered Prius Plug-in PHEV Conversion Kit with Lithium-Ion | Hybrid
i tried to get signed up on their forums but it is not working properly... how many mpg did you get personally from this exact mod/kit? it seems like they have had different versions or revisions of the kit? which one is this one?
I have a short commute so I was only getting 75 mpg. some people are getting 90-100 mpg. My commute does not have enough time to warm up to get the best gas mileage with the Eginer KIT. The kit is a 4KW kit 5th version.
I took a different route due to my short commute. http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-p...0-planing-canview-bms-conversion-lithium.html yes I will ship it at cost. Truck or ups.
How many versions are out now? Is this the newest kit? I keep reading about all the new parts, upgrades and changes they've been making to their kits. Seems like they have been evolving quickly.
I believe Mine is version 5 and they have version 6. The new version mounts a little different and has a slightly different BMS.
when you say you don't have a long enough commute to "warm up" the enginer kit, how many miles does that mean? also how long does it take to "warm up?" Enginer kit is pretty much a mixed driving right, not necessarily pure EV mode but assists in getting better MPG by aiding the factory battery with more battery power to use more of the electric engine (less gas engine)? how long does it take to fully charge? also is there a automatic stop when fully charged? would you be wiling to help install if driven up and purchased?
My life is for the most part within a 5 mile radius. It is not time for the "Enginer" kit to warm up, it is the engine. The Prius uses the most gas when warming up. As the temp rises in the engine the OEM ECU allows the car to used the extra power coming from the Enginer kit. The charging is automatic. A empty pack takes about 5 hours to charge. I am willing to help or install it if needed, but it does take more than just a couple hours. Most installers charge $500 to install. I would not charge you that much but we can talk about it if we get to that point.
You can do a fan mod to raise the ECT reading above 157F. It is relatively simple. Just parallel a 470 ohm resistor to the ECT pin E4-19 to ground with a control switch. You can raise the temperature from 100F to 157F. Make sure switch it off in very cold weather or when the engine is hot (>185F). You can also buy a automatic kit.
