Does anyone know from personal experience when the VIN is available to the customer who ordered the car?
My Dealer/Salesman, Bill Kolosso of Kolosso Toyota here in Appleton, WI called to give me my VIN on the day before it was due to land in Portland. I think that when a dealer gets his notification shipment he also gets the VINS.
your dealer should call you about 10 days before your car is ready. this gives you time to get your insurance affairs in order and what not. this is based on what my dealer told me and that is what happened.
I didn't get mine until the day before - the dealer had it earlier, but held off giving it to me barring any errors. Most dealers though are willing to give it to you once they find it out (usually when the vehicle is 'shipped', aka somewhere in the neighboorhood of 1-2 weeks before it arrives). -m.
I got mine about a week before i recieved the car. the car was still in NY at the time and I'm in southeast MA.
