Well after 3 months, I traded my Prius C in for a 2012 Honda Civic sedan. I just couldn't get comfortable in my Prius. I felt cramped and claustrophobic. Loved the 2008 Civic sedan I traded in when buying my C3 in April, so I traded in my C for a 2012 Civic yesterday. Much more comfortable now. I've enjoyed the conversations here and wish you all well!
Sorry you had to lose some money on the deal (I'm guessing) and if it didn'f fit you you did the right thing rather than put up with it for a few years, life is too short...Good luck.
After some time passes, I'd be interested in you thoughts on the difference between your 2008 Civic and your new 2012. The Civic is a nice automobile. Enjoy.
curious why you didn't consider a Prius lift-back if the main issue was feeling cramped in the c (which I can understand). The c is a compact, the liftback a mid-sized similar to the civic. Was it a price/cost issue mostly?
I am 6' and I do not feel cramped. I am really happy with my car. I have had it 11 days. It has around 1100 miles. I had not driven my 2011 BMW 328i in 11 days. Today I used the BMW and I felt the car really heavy and my arms were hurting after driving it less than 25 miles. I can not wait 2 years until my BMW lease will be up to return it.
I'm glad you didn't stick with the C, if you weren't happy. I hope the 2012 civic works out for you. It's funny though, my previous car, before I bought my C was a 2009 Civic and I really didn't like it. I didn't like the way the transmission shifted in it. It would always rev high before jolting in to the next gear, when accelerating. I always kept up with regular maintenance. I even had them check to see if there was a problem with the transmission, but they said it was fine and that what it was doing was normal. My father had a 2009 Toyota Corolla and I loved how smoothly it transitioned between gears. When I learned about the C and took it for a test drive, I instantly knew this was the car I wanted to trade in my Civic for. I honestly don't notice the size difference that much and I enjoy the ride a whole lot more! Anyways, good luck and have fun with your new civic!
The C is a great commuter car. That's about it. It's noisy and uncomfortable. Once I have enough savings, I'll definitely trade it in for a Lexus.
Thank you. So far I'm really enjoying it. I know a lot of people think the interior looks cheap (and I thought so too in photos), but in real life I like it. I'm an "aspiring minimalist" so it appeals to me. I think the ride is much nicer (softer) and quieter than my '08 - which I appreciate. I dig the i-Mid display and Econ button. Even with Econ engaged, it still has more pep than my C3 so it doesn't bother me like it does some.
