Just in case anyone is interested of seeing what your Prius C looks like when the dash is off the car, here it is. I purchased the car and brought it back to the dealer to have the dash replaced because it had a scratch on the dash above the golve box.
Yipes!! I'm gonna have nightmares after seeing those pics...kinda like pics of face surgery where they peel back the face to get to the underlying layers....
Wow! That is amazing. I would be nervous that something else would get damaged just getting it back together. Do you have pics of the scratch that was worth this disassembly. Post pics once it's back together. Good luck.
I bet it's just snaps and screws for most of it. Techs should have little trouble with it with a manual to look at. Still, it gives me the willys.
I didn't take a photo of the scratch. It wasn't big but it was an eye sore, especially on a new car. I have another panel on order to replace because of another scratch. An alarm was preinstalled and the blinking light had a double sided tape and it left a scratch when they took it off. The panel is the one right underneath the steering column. It's where the knee aig bag is located, the part cost$800+.
I wonder why they removed the lower panel if the scratch was in the upper panel. ALso, why the steering wheel was out when the Repair Manual doesn't include that when removing lower or upper panel (maybe it was to have enough space to work)
Side note: For those who missed it the 1st time around, there pics of a Gen 2 teardown at Embedded Systems Conference Prius Teardown | PriusChat.
