I tried the SOS feature the other day in my Plug-in to verify it was operating and working properly. To just assume it was working when you need it only to find out it doesn't is not the time to find out. So...... I discovered when they answered the speaker "appeared" to be somewhere inside the dash. Couldn't find out exactly where. But what I also discovered was the volume was really low. It was really difficult to hear what they were saying. Has anyone come across a way to control the volume of the SOS call? And does anyone know where the speaker/microphone is located for this call? By the way, I also found out their direct phone number just in case I needed it sometime (for example if the SOS call system failed for some reason) That number is 800-255-3987 Cheers
The call is made on a cellular network so I'd have guessed they just used the speakers in the car that get used when making a call over bt using ones own cell phone. I think that's just the drivers door speaker, the dash drivers speaker, or maybe both. But even then the is a way via the screen to increase volume. I may just have to press that button for the heck of it and see what happens/how it sounds. Did someone answer right away or were there voice prompts first or some kind of message before reaching a live person?
Thanks Paradox No, the sound doesn't come from the regular speakers. Someplace inside the center of the dash somewhere. So, I'm stumped where the volume control is because of that. All of the volume controls control the audio from the other normal audio sources. And yup, a person answers right away asking if you need emergency help. They can even tell where you are located because I asked just to make sure that worked too. LOL
