Should start a list of Toyota dealerships to avoid in each state.

^^^ Well, maybe it would be more helpful if the list of Prius Chat Certified Dealers was more prominently displayed on the forums.

I wonder what PriusChat Premium Membership entails (since it's mentioned as a benefit of ordering through a Certified Dealer)

I'm not certain how this helps him.
This was offered on Pre-orders ONLY, not current stock cars. Only on slam-dunk one per customer orders last fall.

He isn't looking to order last November. He wants a car now.

I don't check PriusChat as often as I'd like - about twice a month, usually - but I just finished reading all 11 pages of this thread. Sorry to hear this was such a nightmare for you ... but am SO happy that this has FINALLY worked out for you at long last. And ... THANKS TO ALL who helped the OP out and intervened along the way!

Did you sign and dealer sign a Purchase Sale Agreement? This would have spelled out what is what.

factory installed: alarm, tint, and something else I don't recall. She says I'll have to pay $2,600 for it. No way!!

A few hours later another Internet Sales Manager calls and tells me to come and pick up the car and says the additional options must be paid for. I told him that's not what I ordered and he said the General Manager had instructed that these features must be installed on every new vehicle that comes in!
Tell them to remove what was put on. You did not authorize the additions.

Did you put a deposit on the car when you ordered it? Does the VIN# appear on your paperwork?
Sounds like your dealing with a bunch of crooks .

I definitely did tell them that I was not going to pay for the additions and that they owe me a car at the price we agreed upon. I put down a deposit when I ordered the car, and have a copy of the order confirmation, complete with a "Contract" section. However, there was no Purchase Sale Agreement at this point.

I remember asking for the VIN but they had argued that there was no way for them to know it until the car came into the dealership. Then when the car did arrive, they refused to "walk all the way to the car" to tell me the VIN, unless I came in to purchase the car immediately.

Good thing the lovely people of Toyota Corporate & Carson Toyota (Dianne) helped me get the car & additions at the price I actually wanted!!

As the New Internet Director at Toyotaplace of Graden Grove I hope this will be the last review of it's kind. I was not present for the trasaction and have spent the last half an hour reading about what had occured. Both myself and our General Manger Sam Chaalan want your new car purchase to be a an easy and strealined process. Smoke and mirrors are not a method to a sale nor are they commonplace at our delaership. I have taken into consideration the reviews on Yelp and I lencourage our customers to express their concerns with myself or managment at any time during the sales process. You can expsect change as I will not accept anything less from myself and our sales team.

It's unwise for anyone in business to ignore Yelp (as well as other sites). Whether deserved or not, Yelp essentially operates as a free Angie's List. I know some people who don't leave town without consulting it for food, lodging, etc. GG Toyota has such a bad rep already on Yelp that it's probably too late to resurrect it.

Of course, they could always "Send in the Clones"… and drop a boatload of positive reviews.

I don't know much about "Yelp" but Toyota and especially Erica have EARNED such a good reputation that your comments about Toyota having a bad reputation on Yelp tells me not to pay any attention to Yelp.
