I understand this is personal so only answer if you want to.

So question is: What do you do for a living and why did you choose the C?
Did you purchase or lease? loan or cash, why?

    As for me.

    Position: Controls Engineer
Why C: My new job required close to 100miles round trip and the C gave the best MPG for the money. Besides it will keep its value very well when I decide to sell it.
Purchased the C Cash had the money saved and besides I hate to pay interest.

Why C: 3 to 4 times better mileage than my full size truck and the price point was also a consideration.

I am a librarian. I commute 40 miles each way to work so I wanted a hybrid. I could not afford a higher priced hybrid. I liked the looks of the C better as well (my other option would have been to go for a second hand Prius from between 2009-2011). I paid cash.

Why C: My 1997 ( bought in 1996) Toyota Avalon transmission blew after 256,244 miles so I need a car. I didn't know anything about Prius, check on Toy web site and see the C with good looking and mileage so I decided to buy one. Using Costco, AAA, Sam's Club, KBB, Cars, Truecar, ... to search for white C with no result except Costco sent me 60 miles away. Tried to call dealers around 20 miles and found one with Super White C4 in stock. Came in to take a test drive and got out of the dealer in a little less than 2 hours. From the time my Avalon was dead, Saturday at noon, to drive home in my new C4 Super White Sunday afternoon is total 28 hours max. That's quite fast. One funny thing is I didn't know about this forum before I got my C4.

Purchase the C: all cash. I got about $8,000 from my 2 accidents a couple months apart so I just add in more from savings to pay cash.

Occupation: actor and bartender. I drive all freaking over LA for both auditions and jobs. I was spending a ton of money on gas before I bought my 2. I've filled up once this month and still have 3/4 a tank left! I worked on a C ad before the car came out and loved it.

My other (summer) fun car is a 2001 Mazda Miata. The "winter car" that I replaced was a 2004 Pontiac Vibe ( with 132000 Kilometres) which I loved but they dont make it anymore. I liked the styling (sporty) look and feel and fuel economy of the c.
Paid cash...I abhor paying interest (I also hate paying "service charges" for just about anything).
I don't like driving a "status symbol" so I stay away from flashy luxury expensive vehicles. I would never spend $50,000 on a car even if I won the lottery...not my gig.
Love the car so far...although I've had it 3 months and only put 1600 km (1000 miles) on it.

I just picked up my C2 today! I rented one a few weeks ago to see how I liked it and it was just what I needed. I drive about 19k miles a year and my 02' Subaru Impreza was nice but I wanted better gas mileage.

Why the C: Price point and gas mileage. I had an 04 Kia Optima prior to this, before a drunk driver decided to total it by hitting me head on. I wasn't quite ready to invest in a new vehicle prior to the accident and have always told myself that my next car would either be an electric car or a hybrid. I just happened upon the C in my search for a replacement vehicle. After much consideration, deep down, this was the vehicle I wanted. I love this vehicle. It is everything I want in a vehicle. Small, efficient, and functional. I love the gas mileage on this thing, and it doesn't cost as much to fill up :) :)

Why: Primarily because it was orange...seriously, its my favorite color! My previous car was an orange Honda element, bought that because or the color as well. And of course because it was a cooler looking hybrid than anything else out there. Third, by getting this daily driver car, I wont have to worry about fuel consumption when I get my truck (Tacoma?). I can park my truck until I need to use it.

Gary and I both work for an auctioneer in various areas of the business.

    Why:
Factor 1: Part of our job is to do estate inventories and our c is a great "run about" for that.
Factor 2: My 91 yr old Mom lives 110 miles away and our kids & grand kids live 90 miles away. It was time to get a more fuel efficient vehicle for visits.
Factor 3: We had 2 full size cargo vans for a second job that we both worked. That's changed and now we only need the one full size van.

    Payment type:
Along with our clear title trade in we paid cash.

I had a leased 2010 Liftback that had 50k miles on it and my lease was for 45k miles and I had 1 year left on the lease. Local dealership was buying back 2010 and 2011 above book to build up their used inventory. Made a deal with them to buy out my lease at no cost to me if I bought the Prius C. I like the look of the C better than the liftback but am VERY disappointed in both performance and MPG comparatively. I will keep the C until the Cadillac ELR (Cadillac version of Chevy volt) is released in my area - probably early 2015ish.

I don't have a long commute or anything, about 12 miles each way. I do like to drive however, and on the weekends I'll drive quite a bit to take photos, go mountain biking, hiking, or camping. Really just wanted a hybrid for the technology, fuel economy, and it helps me slow down and drive to get the best fuel economy.

Why C: Similar, I have a new job required 150miles round trip and the C gives the best MPG for the money. I thought about the Honda Insight but did't like how the car react when releasing the accelerating pedal plus low MPG comparing to Prius. Prius C just released and happened having one in the dealer, test drove it and loved it.

I'm a trainer/coach for an internet c2c corporation. My fiance is a database programmer.

The car is actually mine. We live within biking/walking distance to my office but we travel a lot on the weekends. My fiance is actually going to be driving the car as he works about 45 minutes from where we live. My Corolla was biting the dust, I wanted a good, reliable car, with great MPG- something that is fun, and I've been looking into Hybrids for a while. The C was a perfect fit :D

We got a super low interest loan for the C. (and I pick it up next week!)

What I do for a living: Customer Service Rep for a Pharmaceutical Company.

    Why?
I had a SUV that I loved to drive but $50 bucks a week in gas was killing me. My commute is 30 miles or 15 miles each way and getting 16.6 MPG wasn't helping.
I wanted something more fuel efficient and safer. But these cheap 4 cyl cars getting mid 30s (Civic, Elantra, Cruze) wasn't good enough for me. Then I drove my grandpas Prius ( Gen 3 ) and I fell in love then I heard about the new C and all the cool options and how safe it was and of course the MPG and the C looks pretty damn good to I might add! I JUST HAD TO GET ONE! So after shopping around for TWO WEEKS I heard about a C3 getting shipped into a local dealer that no one had put a deposit on I debated because it was a few more grand than I wanted to spend. But I decided to go for it and I went down that saturday and put $10,000 as a down payment. I still owe about $15,XXX on it. I plan to have it paid off by spring/summer of 2013. My interest was also 4.99% Since I'm only 18 I decided financing will help build my credit and my dads too since he decided to co sign for it. And NO he did not put one cent towards this car it was all me. He just cosigned because if I would have went with Toyota financial it would have been almost 17% in interest which is just outrageous lol.

I got my C because I had a Saturn Vue that I loved but with the company going out of business and it getting up there in miles, I was worried about maintenance costs and reliabilty. I looked at another small SUV and the C. I thought the C was cute and since I do a lot of in town driving, I thought the gas mileage was a great bonus. Also all the cool tech features helped too. I have a loan on it because I don't have that much cash sitting around. Wish I did. :)

Healthcare Administration. Liked the look of the car, loved the color and am captivated by 50 mpg or better. Love technology and the C is loaded with it.

    I am a System/Database Administrator.

Why: Gas Mileage/Cost. I commute 90 miles rt and wanted something that gave me good gas mileage.

My previous car was a Corolla and was at its end of life (256K). I looked around, but didn't want Honda Fit or Insight.

    I haven't been disappointed. Love my PC3.
