Finally the wait is over, I get my 2006 Prius this week. I am getting the driftwood pearl, package #7. I have opted, from advice fromthis forum, to not get the Toyota protection package. Can't see the benefit quite frankly. Will keep everyone posted as to how things go with the new Prius!!! I am very excited.
Congratulations on the news! Are you refering to the extended warranty? If so I think I will get it, if my dealer offers a good price I will go with it otherwise I will order it from here at PC since it is at an exceptional discount. (Thanks Danny and Troy for arranging that offer)
No I am referring to the protection group the exterior paint sealant, glass etch deterrant etc that package
I have a Driftwood pearl with package 7 coming at the end of this month. I am interested in your opinion on the color and the total car. I can hardly wait for mine care to make it to Ithaca, New York. I probably will buy the Bridgestone Blizzard winter tires and have them ready to be put on when the car arrives. We have not seen the sun here for some weeks. Thanks for the response.javascript:emoticon('B)') smilie
I get my driftwood pearl #8 friday the 13th..........6 days from now. Sitting at the dealer waiting for me to come and get it. Don't see many getting the driftwood.............
Welcome to PriusChat, katwoman and NealSpencer! Happy for both of you. Let us know when your cars come in, and if you have questions after reading the owners manual. P.S. Love Ithaca---I'm from Utica. Go, Big Red! "Far above Cayuga's waters There's an awful smell; Some say it's Cayuga's waters, Others say... " (we used to sing at Syracuse B) )
Pickedup my Silver # 7 yesterday(the 7th). Drove around town and some interstate roads. There were 3 bars on the gas guage when I started and about 6 miles on it. The gauge droped to 2 bars at the 89 mile mark. The average is about 43.7m/hr. temps were 37 degrees when I started. I drove about 45 miles the first time. Just got back and the milage is 112. The temp tonight is 30 degrees. Some the the driving was 55-65-70 on interstate, so probably doing ok for first day.
Forgot to mention that on Monday, the dealership will fillup the tank. Won't drive today, talk of freezing rain/snow mix. Have it in the garage. The folding side mirrors help alot.
Picked up my '06 Driftwood with Package 5 (HI) yesterday. I've only driven it about 20 miles but I love it already. Today it's snowing. Dare I get my new baby dirty? Spidey
I am curious what did you pay for your prius #7 and what was included in you package. I go look at mine tomorrow and want to make sure that I am not gouged at the dealership. Thanks!
javascript:emoticon('') smilie Katwoman, Here is the email I received from my dealer a few days ago. This 06 is in Driftwood Pearl and with package #7. Your vehicle of course has the navigation system also Toyota is building them with the Z1 package which is floor mats, cargo net, cargo mat,and a first aid kit and a glass breakage sensor. Taxes are for New York State. I plan to buy Bridgestone Blizzard Tires and have the windows tinted. The vehicle is 28464.00 67.50 NYSI inspection, title and tire tax 2283.40 Tax ------------ 30825.90 plus plates is the total. Regards, Neal
my dealer has apackage 7 in driftwood pearl, added features are backup camera, auto dimming reaview mirror, security enter/exit, toyota protection group, carpets, don't know what else they want to sell it for 29700 and I am wondering whether it is a good deal. I live in SE Florida. From what I can see it looks like they are not adding more to regular price like some dealers.
It all depends if the Toyoguard and mats are worth >$800 to you I guess. Most people on here feel the Toyoguard is a waste of money, and just a cash-cow for the dealerships, so I had my dealership remove it, and all other options, from the car before it hit the port in Jacksonville. But, even with the Toyoguard + mats + delivery charges, you're still $800 over what I get on my calculator: $21,725 + $5730 (Package 7) + $619 (Toyoguard) + $209 (mats) + $635 (Delivery) = $28,918. There must be more options yet. Compare to the standard Package 7 here: http://priuschat.com/2006_toyota_prius.html I'm also in SE Florida, and am buying it from Toyota of Stuart. It may even be here tomorrow! P.S. - If you DON'T want all those options, you need to put money down, wait for your spot in line, watch their allocations coming in, and have them remove the stuff you don't want/need: Toyota of Stuart
That is funny!! My new favorite.. Old one was Northwestern at Big Ten basketball games, when they would get pasted with regularity in years past. " That's all right It's OK, You'll be working for us someday" SORRY, Not meant to hijack the topic! I was just called.... my Prius would be in between the 20th & 30th.. I have ordered the MudFlaps & Chassis Stiffening via net & PriusChat. I am going to look at getting the dealer to put them on gratis... If not, I'll install myself
