Yes, i know the pid listing (for scangauge II i was discovered de SOC pid for everybody). But mi app shows +30 pid on the screen, i want to see it all the time, to control everything in my prius, and that torque cant do.
Anyway, i dont like torque ¿why do you want to sell me that app? I write all the things that i can do.

    Bye.

    Well played/said.

It looks like everyone is using either Torque or Engine Link depending on software platform.

So I guess the big question is WiFi or BT adaptor?

Does one use more phone/tablet battery than the other?

I bought a cheap $15 BT adaptor last year for my then Android phone & if I left it plugged into the OBD port after about 3-6 starts my 2013 Prius II would freak out with a red triangle + other dash lights & I would lose regen brakes. I would have to pull over & re-start the car after removing the OBD adaptor to restore the car back to normal operation. I FREAKED out wen it first happened.

Is well known the problem you are presenting.
The CAN gets confused while the adaptor is connected at all times.
Solution is, remove it before shut-down the vehicle and vice versa after start-up.

I have a ODBSCAN wifi unit I use with DashCommand on my iPhone. Problem is, some data shows but car specific data like overall mpg does not. For example, it reads the VIN just fine. It appears to me that Toyota does not approve of the general owners having full access to all data. If so, no amount of app development will be successful. I'd like to see more info on this topic.

So if I buy a "better/more expensive" adaptor I'm still going to have issues like this?

If that's the case I wonder if there's a way to include some type of switch(rocker seems best to me) to toggle the adaptor on/off without having to physically remove & reinstall it.

That would save physical wear & tear on the socket & adapter & be way more convenient to use.

All depends on your electronic's abilities. Certainly the 12VDC line can be switched and the system enabled when needed.

Great point & easily addressed. Thanks for the "out of the box" thinking.

This is from my fuel draining pains & wreck rebuild that turned into a worklog. Summary is IMHO, Apple (rules) is entirely too tyrannical. Do it mobile with Android and Win 7 on 4 gigs free space on a mobile. The dev programming is easier with Apple but its too, well, impossible to be economic for our use.

Anyone know if DriveDroid (it does require root :-( ) on Google play store can be used to get this done to run Win 7,8,10 + mini VCI? My search hits did not look promising. Reason is I have a transciever and audio chip crippled S4 that could pull this off if it can be done. The DriveDroid dev site here:DriveDroid - Softwarebakery.
Tons of Lunix variants this page on their list: http://softwarebakery.com/apps/drivedroid/distributions.html
Oooo! I found it for MS WIN 7:Windows installation on DriveDroid - Softwarebakery. But the requirements I am severely lacking on:
    Requirements for above:
    1. DriveDroid v0.7.0+
    2. 4GB free space on your Android phone.
    3. A PC with Windows 7 and 7-zip installed & freeware Rufus.
    4. Diskpart utility (installed by default on Windows 7).
    5. A Windows 7 installation disk or ISO & or on tbumb drive.
Only item I do have is:
#2. 4gb on S4 or can make it real fast.
#4 Making a partitian is no biggie but need everything else.
So then I would have to get 2 copies of win 7, (done) & Techstream in interum used via MiniVCI running good on Win 7 PC.
#1. Buy drivedroid v0.7.0+ for $ 2.37 ish @ Play Store then Get freeware for Windows called Rufus here Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy wayUsing Rufus to create bootable USB images - Softwarebakery
#3. upgrade my xp machine to win 7 with the first install disk (done) then DL a win 7 zip, (Done) and..
    #4. Use Diskpart.
#5. Get a second win 7 install disk or ISO img disk. (Done).
