I am debating upgrading form the Prius C II to the Prius C III - better rims, radio, navigation system and entune. Does anyone have any input on these frills? Do you have to buy a subscription to Entune? Do you have to buy a subscription to the navigation system?
Navi is free, entune is free for 3 years, but right now its far from perfect. There are mixed reviews about the head unit in the 3, I like the concept and the layout, easy to navigate, but there are bugs and its nearly impossible to see the screen during the day sometimes - even with tinted windows.
I was going for the 3 but then I realized that I don't need all the little extras the 3 has so I went with the 2. The 3 has some neat things like entune but I stream Pandora and iheartradio right to my standard radio and works just fine. iPhone ?
I didn't need a 3, but the one we wanted was a 3. If the little red bugger were a 2 we would have bought it anyway, if it were a 4 we still would have made the purchase. Love the car, it's the Stealership and their Dis-service Department that suck. You're going to love your car regardless of trim level. The Navigation works well IF YOU ARE NOT MOVING - but that's the gov't not Toyota. It is just an inconvenience particularly when your passenger is the navigator, and you need to stop forward movement to request a new location. Entune is not intuitve. It's available, but I do not use it to it's full potential. Between my iPhone and Sirius I'm good. What is the cost difference btwn the 2 and the 3?
Don't forget about the smart key. Wish I bought the 3 instead of the 2 just for that feature. The price difference between the two packages is about $1500
the II does not come with satelite radio, so do you have the III? the cost is about 3k difference i'd say. which is worth it if what my dad tells me is true - people pay an extra $2k just for navigation in their cars.
entune is free for 3 years and is $5 a month after that. is the navigation a part of the entune? navigation is free forever unless you opt to upgrade the maps?
I too have the 3 and love it. I initially searched high and low for a 1, but due to the high demand when I was doing my search and limmited supplies, I opted for a 3. The smart key really was the selling point. Not having to pull a key out of your pocket to either lock, unlock, or turn on your vehicle is a very nice luxury if you ask me. Entune is pretty neat to play with, but its something I could have lived without. If the 2 had the smark key option, I would have gone with that combo instead and saved myself some money. But as AutoMo said, I too love my car.
And I believe its 1500 difference between the 2 and the 3 without the upgraded wheels... could be wrong though.
I like the head unit, even though it doesn't sound that great, because of all the features. Yeah your phone can stream Pandora, but being able to give a song a thumbs up on your car stereo is neat. Regardless I bought a 3 for the smart key. For me, totally worth it. It just makes the car feel so much more high tech, more cool, and a million times more convenient. $1500 worth? That's up to you. I love my smart key SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 ? 2
*edit* Double post whoops... but since I have another spot I'll say that entune works perfectly fine for me, I guess it just depends on the phone. So far I've had no connection or disconnect issues and everything streams fine. I have a Samsung galaxy note.
I just wish we could change the startup picture on the nav screen (like in the camry) Thats a neat feature.
