I have a 2012 Prius and I absolutely love it! I have had it for two months & it has just lost the brand new car smell. I went to Walmart and purchased a new car smell air freshner that attaches to the air conditioning vent. I was thinking that I might attach it on the air vent that vents heat from the battery in the backseat. Does anyone see a potential problem that I might run into if I do this? I would much rather not put it on one of the air conditioning vents in the front if the car because I would like to keep that "clean" dashboard look in my car.
That vent sucks air in, so it'll suck the new car scent into it rather than blow it out into the car. Also, why block/restrict the flow of air into the vent which is needed to cool the battery with anything. Just my opinion.
Thank God! I seriously thought that the vent in the back seat was venting hot air into the car. I have determined that I will clip the air fresher on one of the front vents when I leave the car parked in the sun to let the solar power fan spin and freshen up my car.
No, the flow is over the battery and then out through two exits at the rear of the car. Doesn't recirculate.
Either side of the rear of the car (behind the rear bumper skin. You can see the right side if you are working on the 12v battery.
That actually works fine as I do that all the time. But I place it under the filter resting on 2 plastic ribs so it won't get sucked into the fan. This is of course is one of those "Little Trees" which is flat. Also, if you try this trick, be sure to cut off the string first. The 2 plastic ribs are closer to the passenger door or the right side of the filter compartment. The problem is you need to do this monthly which entails removing the lower glove box.
