Hey All, I installed Clazzio covers in my 2010 Prius II about a month ago. Overall I felt pretty good about the install... they have a nice factory appearance and I spent the extra time to make sure all the lines were straight etc. The only area they I am leery on is my install of the "sidewings" on the rear seat. The way they are installed now I feel leaves much to be desired. Has anyone successfully installed the sides so they look factory? The passenger side by the vent seems like a dust collector to me and the drivers side has started to pull out of where it was inserted with the plastic tool. Minor gripe overall.. but I'm considering ordering the material by the yard from the Manufacturer and having an upholstery shop redo the sidewings... that is... unless you guys have a better solution? Thanks
Hi Russ, I totally agree. I felt the fit on the sidewings was not up to snuff with the rest of the kit, even though no one that rides in my car would ever notice except for me. Luckily, I over-ordered just enough spare material to recover the side pieces when I do the door panels to match. Did you do the PVC or Leather? Jeff
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the reply... once I saw the leather ones were just the inserts and overall were mostly PVC I did the PVC full covers. Especially from Sparks Toyota they were even cheaper than advertised. For the most part my rear seat is the same deal. Most of the time the rear seat is empty. The only person riding back there any other time is my 1 year old son. I just ended up riding back there Sunday and it caught my attention again. Overall I really love the covers, most people can't tell the difference and think its factory leather. I think I'll probably just order up the material and have a shop cover those parts. Still will be a leather (maybe faux in my case) interior for pennys on the dollar compared to factory or even a Katzkin setup!
I'm curious. Could you post a picture of what bothers you? I'm considering the Clazzios and I'd like to be fully informed before I make the leap. Tom
Hey Tom- See the first pic in post #189 in the attached thread. This would be the biggest of the few concerns...don't let it sway your decision...I really enjoy mine and cannot wait to do my door panels to match! To Clazzio's credit, I don't see any other way that they could have done anything to improve the side wing covers short of sending extra material to have them recovered at an upholstery shop. Hey Tom, The pictures Jeff linked to were exactly my concern. If I were to do it all over again... I'd still get the Clazzios. The sidewing thing is a minor gripe because I want the interior of my car to be as factory looking as possible. The PVC from Sparks were only $240 shipped and you can't beat that! I figure even if I order material and have a shop cover the side with the vent there is no way I will be out very much $$ and then it would appear 100% to me like a factory setup and I will have saved a bunch of cash. I do absolutely love the Clazzio covers. Jeff... Thanks for that link! There were some pictures and explanations in there that I think will help me make my sidewing install look a little cleaner.
