Hi all, I replaced my auxiliary battery yesterday and everything was working fine. This morning my driver side window will not close back up. All the other windows are working fine. Any help? I drive a 2008 Prius btw with roughly 50000 miles
Roll the window halfway down, then roll it up and hold the switch in the up position for a couple seconds. This resets the auto down/up feature.
Try disconnecting the 12v, then reconnect, make the car Ready (requires two power button pushes), hold the switch down for a couple seconds, then hold the switch up. If it rolls up, keep holding it for two seconds after it seats to the weather stripping. If there is still no response, then that would be interesting.
I just disconnected the ground wire for teh 12v battery and reconnected it. Turned it on and driver side window power switch is still unresponsive. Does it have something to do with a blown fuse? Where would the fuse be on the fuse box?
I take it all your warranties expired. Going on that, consider the fact that the actual window switches DO fail. It happened to us. It was the rear passenger one, in our case. Consider your self lucky. The service tech's will 1st check the main driver's door switch. Only after finding THAT switch ok, will they move on the the window in question . . . . thus, we got charged for TWO 'inspections'. Yours will only require opening up the drivers door for inspection/repair. Although our warranty covered the cost of the switch and its replacement, we had to pony up for the cost of the 'inspection'. (grrrr....) My switch blew during an aux battery swap out too. .
my windows just stopped working one day. one window would only roll half-way up. i ended up hooking my laptop power supply to the connection inside the door panel behind the the switch so i could roll up the window. so you think the switch on the drivers door is the problem? none of the window switches work.
