Because I need to do a buttload of work to get the new pic URL's into the OP.
One of the few bad things that happened due to Danny changing the server!
What I can't figure out, some of my posts have pics, the multi pic posts do not.....weird!
I just not have had time to do it, thanks for bringing it up, I will try to redo ALL my pic heavy posts in the next couple of days.

Not intending to hijack this thread but I would caution anyone buying from autoillumination.com. I just had a very bad experience where they screwed up my order for LED bulbs that I wanted to replace with my front turn signals. They wound up sending the wrong bulbs, but instead of sending out the right ones, they wanted me to pay to send their screw-up back, and THEN they would send out the right order. I went back and forth with them saying they would not send out the bulbs I actually ordered until I sent the wrong ones back.

Contrast that to a very similar experience with SuperbrightLEDs.com where they issued an RMA and replaced the defective item, trusting me to send back the defective item. That's much better customer service. I wound up installing their 7440-x45-T wedge base tower bulb which was much brighter than the iJDMToy 7440 LED. I did change the flasher relay because LEDs without some form of load resistor will hyper flash (which was the case when I tried installing without the different relay).

The video in the post below shows what the LEDs look like in operation. Not as bright as the original incandescents, but pretty darn close.

    DRL/Bulb Technical Question | Page 2 | PriusChat

FYI, I have an unopened set up Cree Eagle Eye 10 watt amber 7044 LEDs that I didn't order and want to sell. PM if interested.

Again, be careful with autoillumination.com. They're incompetent at times and their customer service / return process sucks.

You may have had a bad time ordering LEDs from them, but I and many others have NOT!
And ALL my LEDS still work like the day I bought them......and they are more than bright enough!

^^ Good for you. I won't order from them again because, like I said, their customer service and return process sucks. If you don't think that getting hijacked to return an order they screwed up on is a problem, then knock yourself out and continue to use them.

I don't get your last comment about the brightness. I was comparing what I installed to the iJDMToy bulbs, which didn't have anything to do with autoscrewmillation.com's bulbs. Sorry for the confusion there.

You settled for LED's that were not up to the brightness necessary, also, you can only get Switchbacks from Autoillumination.com! I don't think this mod is for you!

Thanks. You are correct that the switchbacks aren't the best of solutions for the 2012's, especially for dual purpose DRLs / turns. :)

For 2012 (or any gen 3 Prius in general) I think the best option is the OEM side mirror with built-in DRL, turn signal, and puddle lights.

    What DRL????

It only has a signal, puddle & pilot light. None are really visible during the day either.

    Ditto...

Think this is a mod I'd still feel more comfortable paying someone to do... maybe if I make a trip up to LA... I could find someone. hint hint

The hardest part, if making the interface, and that's 3 wires and 2 connectors! If some folks want, I can solder up some units. After that second hardest thing is tapping into the fuse box and getting power!

Third hard part is shelling out money for parts. To convert t all LED, I figure I have spent about $200+ ish bucks!

Just order the relay thing to prevent fast blinking and the 7443 sockets. Plan on hard wiring them in and connecting the extra wire to the side marker POS+ so the while LED will only come on when I turn the parking lights and headlights on. Should work just fine, right? Still looking for bulbs but am concerned about how big I can go in case it won't fit in the old bulb hole.

Silly idea I just had since my girl is doing crafts with glow in dark paint... What if I neatly colored around the LEDS? It would glow blue when the lights are off.

The MAX bulb size that will fit into a GEN II housing is 20mmX52mm! You could possibly ream the opening out, but that might conflict with the bulb socket locking into place properly. The 60 LED from these guys fit perfectly, any bigger, that would be trouble! Here is the link where I purchased mine..

Almost done when I noticed the blinkers flash white a second then go Orange like normal. If I turn the parking light on then blinkers they work fine. I did replace the flasher relay. jdmtoys.com said I also need a 50W 60ohm resistor per led bulb. Had anyone tried that or is there a circuit I can build to fix this? Want it to work like normal and controlled by a switch vs the running lights on automatically.

If you replaced the flasher relay, and used the bulbs I did in the article, you do not need an external resister. I didn't !
Yes you are correct about the white flash, I replaced the turn signal and white is on during the day, mine flash white orange white! I chose the mode where the white stays on during flashing the ambers! There is an alternate that kills the white when in turn signal mode!

Per the suggestions of Ijdmtoy.com I connected a 50w 60 ohm resistor to each and every wire combination I could come up with on top of having the relay flasher in. They still flashed white for a second then orange longer. Decided to continue with the install. I soldered my new plugs into the old sockets so I can still unplug them technically but would need to buy a replacement socket and snip 1 wire if I wanted to go back to stock. Soldered then covered in silicon.

I tried led in the side marker light and it look weird,so sadly stock is best in the side marker unless you cleared your headlights of the orange reflector. In one of my test I connected the ground of the side marker to the positive of the blinker so it would short when the blinker comes on, causing it to flash also but I blew a fuse so will have to come back to that one.

For now everything works just have the white flash issue. May try a different kind of LED bulb or brand. Worse case I'll use it as a rear turn signal/ switchback to reverse light. Attached are my night pictures because the whole time reading about I thought "MORE PICTURES would be helpful " and my YouTube video of how the flash currently.

Just a thought but maybe a diode to keep current flow in 1 direction
