Yes, I have it in my Prius and Chevy. My 1949 Ford had it too, it's not new and was far from new in 1949.

I have push button start on my Prius and Corvette.
Push button start is great, never have to remove fob from your pocket.

Was this weird to get used to? I mean, I've used keys a specific way my whole life. It would totally through me off, I think.

I do not, nor have I ever.

But the first time I drove a Prius was test driving a c Four. And the first time I started my c Two with the regular key, it felt weird. The push button start just makes more sense/feels right when there is no ICE starting with the turn of the key. But hey, I couldn't afford that option this time, so there's a simple goal for my financial future. :p

Have it. Don't like it. It's OK but I've gotten out and left car running several times so it has downside. The upside of pushing a button instead of inserting the key is minimal. I do like the ability to lock and unlock doors at a touch and hot having to fish out the key but that can be done with a key-insert ignition also.

I love it. Less for the push-button part, more for the not having to dig for keys to open/lock the doors. Definitely a highlight I wasn't expecting. I haven't had a problem with leaving the car on... wouldn't it beep if you tried to do that? I It beeps if you leave the keyfob inside.

When we first got our first Prius, I thought the smart key was a cute gadget.
I absolutely fell in love with it. To me, it just seemed more natural.
I could walk up to the car, open it as it would unlock automatically and start the car. All without removing the fob from my pocket.
My wife found it even more convenient as she would just keep the fob in her purse and never worry about it.

That was the biggest thing I missed when I sold the Prius and got the Tesla.
The model S is going a little further even. No start button. Sit down in the driver's seat and as long as the key is close enough, the car starts:)

So the eight year old hops into the Tesla and NAILS IT while Dad's puttering in the garage. The Teslas in the pool in the backyard wearing Dad for a hood ornament. That sounds like a fob too far.

    Why make baseless assumptions?
You don't think the engineers at Tesla considered things like this and took steps to make sure this type of thing doesn't happen?

I love the SKS with its push button start. It was easy to get used to. The hard part is realizing that everything else still requires a key.

Oh no doubt. It was such a pain having to fish out the fob after being spoiled by the sks.

Yeah, since I got the C Three with SKS I find myself grabbing the door handle when I'm going into the house and wondering why it doesn't unlock for me...

The car beeps at you three times if you walk away from it while its running, as long as the key is with you of course. That always reminded me if I tried to walk off haha.

That key is going to have to be a lot closer than that lol. Its gonna have to be in the front seat pocket or maybe purse in the passengers I'm sure.

I personally looove the push button start. Considering the key never has the leave my pocket especially. If possible I'm never going to buy a car without it. No true downsides, but if I had to come up with one it would be that I'm so used to not needing the key I occasionally forget it in the house if I'm not going to be locking the front door. Pretty minimal downside :p

    I do the same thing!

My only problem with the push button system was my initial need to check if the doors locked by pulling on the handle, which unlocked the doors....it was a vicious cycle!
