Mostly what I read here are spring/sway bar upgrades, which are nice in their own right. I'm looking to get a more compliant ride as well with an upgraded set of shocks. Who has done what and what are your suggestions. Thanks.

Honestly? Nobody has done an upgrade or even heard of an upgrade?

Give 'em some time as today is the holiday and the forum is very quiet. There are tons of aftermarket parts for our car's suspension. I am no expert on that so I will not make any suggestions :) I run the factory TRD Plus Performance package on mine.

I have the TEIN street advance coilovers and the ride quality is very similar to stock when adjusted on full soft. These coilovers have full ride height and shock valving adjustability so it is a good choice if you are looking for a more compliant suspension upgrade. I've compared these coilovers with the plus performance springs and stock shocks and their is a definite difference in the handling and stability of the car, especially around the bends.

I have the Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC coilovers. I was looking for adjustable ride height with an oem like ride. The struts/shocks are non-adjustable so all you have to do is set the ride height. I didn't want to go thru the hassle of corner balancing the suspension which I read is desireable to correctly setup your car. I will never track my car so it was the best choice for me. Hope this helps.

KYB GR-2 (very similar to stock, so not really an "upgrade") and
    KYB AGX (adjustable)

That is great news Alex. Many thanks! Coil overs are always on my mind being Captain Racer, but for the Prius, I believe the PP springs and a good set of dampers would elevate this car into a more compliant territory.

Speaking of Performance Plus, does anyone here know what the Front Rear weight distribution is with those springs installed?

If there is anyone around the Minneapolis Minnesota area on this forum with scales, we can measure my car :) I would be interested to see the data also.

I see in your sig it says you have a Cusco rear end chassis brace. What is this and where can I get one? I have all the rest either already on, or on the way, but that's the first I've heard of a rear end chassis brace.

How does the suspension compare between the Tanabe S-OC and stock? I'm looking for the lowered look with close to stock dampening.

What do those coil over kits use in the rear since stock is a spring and shock setup not a strut?

For the rears, you install an adjustable perch where the springs sit.

I keep debating between the H&R springs and coilovers.

From what I can find, the Tein coilovers don't give a lot of height adjustment room in the rear. Their stated range is -1.9" to -2.9". For me, I would want a little more flexibility and likely don't want to go that low. That would leave the Tanabe (-1" to -2.5" rears). Another option I have been considering if I go coilover is the Megan Racing unit which seems to have good adjustability and price.

I have put together a comparison of springs and coilovers here:

i've had the megan racing coilovers and i think they were the best bang for your buck.
