I have a new to me 2010 Prius. What I'm trying to do (I did it with my 2008 Prius) is to be able to unlock any door from the outside as long as I have my fob in my pocket. I've tried following the directions in the manual but to no avail. I've tried holding lock and unlock on the fob simultaneously for 5 seconds, all doors open shows up on the control panel, but when I approach any door except the drivers door, nothing happens. Any ideas?

I have a new-to-me 2010 Prius IV with Smart Key System. I would like to program the car to open any door, not just the driver door by lifting the handle. I know I did this with my Gen 2 Prius. Is this possible? Also, is there a way to have head lights automatically turn off when the car is turned off?

I just got a new to me 2010 as well. I just read how to do this in the manual. It is on page 48 if you have it.

No, I have to use the fob if I want to unlock any door except the driver door. All I want to do is change it so if I touch the handle of the driver or passenger door and the hatch, they will unlock all the doors. Any suggestions?

I follow what it said in the manual (which is as clear as mud), tried pushing both buttons simultaneously and even counted out exactly 5 seconds. Nothing has worked so far.

I'm not sure what you mean by the head unit?

Try holding down all three buttons (lock, unlock and panic button) for as long as it takes to get the confirmation signal. Worked for me, but took longer than 5 seconds.

Head unit is the display screen for radio navigation, press setup or something like that, can't remember what it is called exactly.

If u can change ur light control.....it should be in the setup menu on the nav screen.

To change the SKS, u need to hold both the lock & panic buttons until u hear the confirmation beeps.

I just got home and was able to make it work. Sitting in the car with the power off. I held down the unlock button, added the panic button, so you hold both of them. Then I also held down the lock button (so all three) until the car beeps. Now all the doors unlock when you touch the handle. Hope that helps.

The OP has a '10 Prius.

Color touchscreen LCD was not included on '10 and '11 Priuses unless you get nav.

All '12s come w/w color LCD touchscreen and many of the options that previously required dealer customization (via Techstream) on '10 and '11 can be done w/o it now, via the HU.

See Things that can be customized | PriusChat for the list on '10 and '11s. AFAIK, having nav on '10 and '11 doesn't help at all w/doing any of these customizations yourself.

Which Prius model do you have? The Prius II only had SKS on the driver's door, while the IV and V had it on all doors. Not sure about the Model III.

On my 2010 V (I see you have a 2010 IV, which should be the same), the sensors are on the the 2 front doors and the hatch--not the 2 rear doors. If the front doors or hatch aren't responding, it sounds like time for a trip to the dealer.

I have a "new to me" 2010 Prius. I'm not sure which model number it is, I believe it's a III because it doesn't have leather seats and it does have 8 speaker sound system. What I'm trying to figure out is if I can open up other doors besides the driver door if I only have my fob near the door. Maybe that's only an option in the IV model. Does anyone know if there's a way to determine this? My 2008 Prius has a small black square on each door and all you have to do is press that square to lock and unlock the car. I love this feature and not sure if I can have this on my newer Prius.

Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota is the model matrix.

On 2010, to have 3 door smart key system (driver door, passenger door and hatch), you need to have model IV or above. If you look for the ridges that you see near the edges of the driver's door handle, you shouldn't see them on the passneger side. Since you say you have no leather, then it means you don't have a model IV or V.

On Gen 2 (04-09), the choices were 0-door SKS (aka NO SKS) or 3-door SKS. No SKS Gen 2s don't have any black buttons at the 3 locations.
