How much for tint?

6 years with 15% tint and no tickets *Knocks on wood*

 

I was quoted $300 for 50% everything but the windshield.

 

They are pricy, but from everything I have heard TNT Tinting in Alexandria is a super shop in the DC area. About $250. This is where I will be taking my Prius.

 

Tint all depends on what you buy, they have cheap kinds, and ceramic based films which are better at reducing the temperature in the car.

 

I Paid 179 for 7 windows. 15% Rears and 50% fronts​

 

I got standard tint on the rear windows and for the front windows I went with 35%. I usually drive with the windows down here in LA, plus everyone and their mom has illegal tint!

I paid $180 for my tint job.

 

I got my 2012 Prius Liftback tinted for $175 for ten windows (all the windows except the front windshield), 20% all around, at Tint Master City (Tint Master City - Los Angeles, CA - Window Tinting for your car, home, and business). I got all of my cars tinted here and they do great work.

 

I went with the best ceramic film, and the legal limit in front, 20% ish (2nd from the darkest, I forgot exatly) around the sides, and back for 275.00

 

that's not a bad price. go for it.

 

I went for the expensive film.

Put 3M film on all 11 windows..​

*3M Crystalline 40 an the front doors​

*3M Crystalline 70 on the Windshield and Moon Roof (Clear)​

*3M CS5 Color Stable on the read doors and hatch (Limo)​

 

I have gotten two tickets ($150 EA) when I had my VW R32 tinted with 15% on the front side windows. Only 35% is allowed in CT on the front sides windows. You also need to be careful that there isn't a slight tint (3%-5%) already in your windows glass because it will put your over the legal limit if you get the 35% on top of the stock tint. CT cops will pull you over for anything. I don't think the prius c has stock tinted window so I may go with 35% this time around.

 

Pretty much every OEM window Scans at about 70% tint in it by default - this is what protects the interior from the UV rays. If you are worried about going over your limit I would stick with the 50% film on the front sides. The tint is a green shade in the glass and not really very visible unless you compare it to a true clear low iron glass which is much more expensive and not used on any vehicles to my knowledge. I think if you put 35% film on and get pulled over you can say you attempted to follow the law by choosing 35% film.

 

I'm so disappointed in the window tint I just had installed. So many bubbles, and there are gaps at the edges. Now I'm battling with the installer Company's love taking your money, but not fixing the poor job they do or mistakes.
Am I looking too close/being too picky? Does tint just have small bubbles for the most part? Certain light it's ok but you get close and it's not good.

 

Bubbles are not good, I could stomach 1 ( if it was not in an obvious spot)but anymore that and they should fix it. Most places have a lifetime warranty on tint for workmanship.

 

Just got all but the windshield done with SunTek Carbon XP 45 for $240 plus $30 for a strip across the top of the windshield. It's $60 less if you go with the regular Carbon tint. I highly recommend A-Plus Tint in Bel Air, MD for anyone living in the area. No bubbles or imperfections anywhere, not even around the black dots on the windshield.

I had Huper Optik Ceramic 30 installed on my 2012 Prius c model 2 today.
It's expensive ($445 - doh!) but I do plan on keeping the car until it falls apart.

Here in Texas you can't have tint on the front window and the driver's side windows must be minimum VLT 25%.

The pictures make the tint look darker than it really is.

 

So I took my car back in to get fixed, it looks way better. I left my iphone in the car to record the garage talk and it was interesting. They stared complaining blah, blah, but then it was WOW, this sucks who did this?? I can see why he wanted it redone. I have learned the hard way to record everything, video when I can and audio as a last resort.
