Cover for Center Console Cup Holder?

I was thinking about a coffee cup with a padded lid would be nice.

I agree with you, I don't think the drivers seat was designed with the armrests in an appropriate height (both center and door)and are too far back (center)

 

The holder closest to the box is an inefficient use of space. But because of the Star Trek arch and accompanying wasted space, there probably wasn't much room left for two cup holders. It's a poor design job, indeed.

Agree. 2006 had much better ergos than 2010 or PIP. Dumb console wastes space.

 

I have a couple of wash cloths jammed into the cup holder to provide a soft surface. If I had a small enough pillow or foam insert I'd try that. I just find it annoying that Toyota designed this aspect of the cabin so poorly that it requires a makeshift and imperfect solution.

 

That cup holder is very easy to remove. I wonder if we removed the cup holder, if an earlier model of the center arm rest could be used.

 

Yeah this is one of my few complaints about the cabin. Not the most comfortable solution but I have adjusted to driving with my right hand and resting my left on the door or driving with my left and resting my right on the shifter, fingers on the EV/HV button.

 

Did any of the PIP Prototype drivers see the final interior and comment to the engineers? What were your comments and did Toyota listen?

Completly agree, I had on my list of things to do to find a cover for that elbow killer. I figured there had to be one already.

 

ukr2 pre-ordered his PiP before they were available to the public. His order # was 110.

The designer must have been tall. I am 6' 3" and the cup holder is at the distal end of my forearm, elbow resting comfortably on the soft console cover, chair back about 2/3 of the way. I couldn't be more comfortable.

 

Distal ? You must be a Doctor.

I'm 6' 2" and have the seat ALL the way back. Do you have SHORT legs???

The open cup holder doesn't bother me either.
