    Hi guys,
The satellite radio was working when I drove the car home from the dealership.

So was it activated the day I purchased the car? Did they create an account under my name or?
Anyone know how long the free trial is?
And what's that website again - that you can get cheap yearly memberships?

Any info would be great. Thanks. =)

I'm in Canada too. It would have been activated by the dealer and what I was told when I picked up my 2012 was that XM would contact us. So I assume the dealer would have provided basic details.

I'm also wondering, if we wait after the expiration date, can we get nice discounts on monthly or even the "life of the car" package. I know I'm not willing to pay full price for XM. :)

It's a 90 day trial period. If you want to extend it you have to sign up at the SeriusXM website and put the radio number in. You get the radio number by tuning to station 00 and the radio number will appear on the screen.

Cheaper than what we pay. The Canadian subscription cost is $147/year and I don't know if that includes traffic (well for those with the DVD or HDD-based nav with XMNavTraffic). Does the DA unit in the Prius c receive traffic via RDS-TMC?

I had XM on the car I traded in. I called them to cancel service but they already had the Prius C info. I transferred my account. They offered me 5 months for $25 after the 90 days was up.

The radio has a number that is used to subscribe. The price in the information after the 90 day trial is $17/month as the best rate.

$17 per month is the best rate? That seems WAY high compared to what people are getting in the thread I posted.

I think in 3 months time, we should bump a thread that has a cheap renewal deal. Usually you get deals calling to cancel. I presume we wont have a real account to cancel when it runs out so we may not have that leverage.

I just got the 6 months for 34.99 (6for35) for the premiere package (no internet radio).

I'm still only my Select package trial, so i won't get charged until my trial expires. Best price I've seen so far. I'm going to call them back before my trial ends and try to get internet radio included in that price.

I still have 6 more weeks on my 3 month trial, but I will be back when I get near the end to see what is happening here. Thanks!

Are we supposed to have the full XM package on the 3 month trial. If not, is there a listing of what Channels we are supposed to have anywhere. I just got my C yesterday, and noticed I don't seem to have the Howard Stern Channels, nor the NFL Channel. Are we supposed to have them? The NFL Channel in particular would be my main reason for having or keeping the package beyond trial.

Thanks for the help. I see that Ch 88, Sirius XM NFL radio is listed as "online only" in this package. Does that mean that during my 3 month trial, I can go to my laptop and listen to this channel, or any other "Online Only" channel. How would one go about doing this?

This is a good thread for those of us that like SAT radio.

I commute more than 1.5 hrs a day and I like staying up with the news via SAT radio. I listen to Bloomberg/CNN/BBC and the World Radio Network (which is a interesting blend of broadcasts from mostly European countries) and NPR. Occasionally I go to local AM and FM stations too. When the news is too much to listen to I dial in SiriusXM Chill.:coffee:

I plan to use the approach talked about in this thread and get the 1 yr for $75 when I get near the end of my trial.

Do like I do every year, just before they AUTO BILL your credit card, I call them up, let them know $147 a year for multiple radios each is dumb, and I will not pay it. After a little haggling, it comes out to less than $100 a year. You have to fight for the price, but it's worth the effort!

Hi guys, I got $79.96 deal in Canada and got them to wave the processing fee for a cheque, so it was $103.51 for a year. Not amazing... but not bad considering what Americans are getting on fatwallet.

That's exactly what I got, and they upgraded me to Premier Package immediately. They solicited me, and the rep wanted to give me 3 extra months for $30. I asked if there was anything cheaper, and that's what they gave me, 6 months, $35, with a promise that if I call back and ask after 6 months(9 months including the free trial), they would give me the same price for an additional 6 months.
