For the life of me I can't figure out how to stop the NAV after I figured out where I am. Sometimes I just need directions on how to get back to the interstate and don't want to listen to the directions all the way home. Right now I am just turning the volume on the maps down, but that seems silly. Side note, I have both iPhone and Android and the iPhone works beautify with cover art and song titles for a lot of apps including iPod, iHeartRadio, Audible whereas Galaxy Nexus just shows unidentified whenever I am streaming anything. It's really annoying....any Andintroid users have any interface tips? Lastly, iHeart was listed in the brochure as coming this summer? Anyone heard any update on new entune content?
From the navigation manual: On the Map screen: Options -> Stop Guidance You'd think there would be a voice command for this, but all you can do is say "Show Map" then follow the above.
With the Gen II you can use the voice command "suspend guidance" and it works like a charm. Perhaps that will also work on the Gen III? Tom
I ran through all the voice command options on the C and "suspend guidance" isn't one of them. It's a surprising omission, especially if it was on Gen II.
That's what I meant. Switched from a 2005 to a 2012, and sometimes I forget. Or I just need more coffee.
Top right hand corner of the map screen you'll see a button with some squares and an arrow. When this is clicked a menu will appear on top of the map. You need to select Cancel Navigation and then confirm to cancel it or keep it. This will go back to just showing the map and now telling you where to go.
You can get iHeart, Pandora, OpenTable, MovieTickets, Sports, Stocks,Traffic, Fuel Guide etc.. If you update your Entune to version 2.1.0. You can call Toyota and they will send you a USB for that update... Now for the 2.2.0 update, all i have to say is good luck with that since you have to go through toyota dealer and they will try to charge you even though it is free to update the Entune firmware.
It appears from reading posts here and over in the Club Lexus forums that sometime in the last couple of years or so the Toyota/Lexus software engineers have made some poor choices regarding the NAV firmware. 2013 Lexii NAV = Bad, Bad, Bad!!! | PriusChat The 800# for Lexus Customer Service is 1-800-255-3987 The 800# for Toyota Customer Service is 1-800-331-4331 Hopefully with enough targeted complaints the "Suspend Guidance", "Resume Guidance" and muting of guidance during phone calls will return in the next firmware release. Ohhh for those of you getting lost while making a phone call please try leaving your map screen up and follow the turns displayed on it. Or if you have a HUD follow the turns there. These should still be available while on the phone. If not add it to the list of fixes for the next firmware release. Kind of sad that our almost decade old NAV's in Ema and Myrtle are more user friendly than the 2013 revision. Happy driving, Chris
