My new Prius v Three-Clear Sky Metallic (took delivery last week) is at Capital Kustoms in Austin for a major aftermarket upgrade.

CK removed the seats, door panels and center console which were sent to Classic Soft Trim for 2 tone leather.

I visited today and took some pictures of the vehicle while Dynamat soundproofing was being installed on the entire interior (roof, floor, doors). See pics.

The work continues tomorrow with the removal and replacement of all 6 stock speakers with:
    2) Morel 6" woofers in the front doors,
    2) Morel 6 1/2" Coax Speakers for the rear doors and
    2) Bohlender & Graebener Neo 3W Planar Ribbon Tweeters in the dash.

A JBL MS-8 sound processor will take the factory head unit's speaker outputs, digitally equalize the sound, electronically crossover all speakers and prepare everything for the Kicker 700.1 5 channel amp.
2 of the JBL amp's speaker level outputs will run the B & G Tweeters
5 of the JBL rca channels will connect to the Kicker amp for the door speakers and subwoofer.
JBL & Kicker are being mounted under the driver & front passenger seat.
(Yes, the installer said there's room for a 20" long amp).
Capital Kustoms will fabricate a fiberglass subwoofer enclosure for the incredible HiVi SP10- 10" subwoofer that will sit in the passenger side "cubby hole" in the back.

    C. Kustoms is also installing a 2 way remote start and dark Ceramic window trim.

Stay tuned as new pics are added while the work continues.... View attachment 38756 View attachment 38757 Scary, huh?

Heck with the pics, what is all that going to cost you? Now if you got power seats and a sunroof...

Wow, I thought I was bad.... Why didn't you get a five with ATP? My son and I were watching Madagascar 2 and it sounded pretty good to us....

The sound deadening will help the car feel more solid. :)

And I thought I did a lot with replacing 4 speakers, adding a sub woofer, and two amps. While I like the idea of sound deadening in the Prius ( I have some around my speaker wells), I would be concerned with the added weight all of it will add. Any idea on how much they put in and how much it weighed?

    Written Estimate-$2,667

Dynamat Extreme 36 sq ft mega pack (9 sheets) weighs 21 lbs. Even if they use 2 packs=42 extra lbs.

I think its a very good price. I'm assuming the 2 tone leather is additional.

The Prius is a "rattle box", even with all that Dynamat, I'm guessing all the interior trim pieces will be buzzing pretty good.

Leather was $1,500 for front, back, door panels and center console.
Being an audiophile, I believe there is nothing better than a quiet vehicle with a superb sound system for long trips.
To me, the investment of extra $ above and beyond the initial cost of the car is well worth it.

Like most vehicles, you probably can't get rid of all the extra noise,
but Dynamating doors, floor and roof should help cut down a lot.

Bold move in deed, congrats on the super upgrade.
May I see the picture of the rear seat and how the center fold down arm rest works?
Will you be able to hear the horn if someone honk at you?

Not with his stereo turned up so high! I know the feeling. Problem with having an upgraded speaker set up is you tend to listen to your music louder because it sounds so good.

I would LOVE to see a finished photo of the sub install. Any chance?

WOW! Now THAT is a "major upgrade".

I feel inadequate B/C all I did was put some mat in the trunk and a bit in the engine compartment and will soon spray the inside of all 4 doors with deadener.
