I have just finished installing the Philips 8 high powered Luxeon LED DRL. Took me over 3 hours to install it, but then again I was taking my time with it. I like the way they look!!

Hey trabant. Tks for sharing. I was considering the 4 led version on my white 2010. Did you have an issue that they shutoff occasionally? I read another report where some guy had issues and had contacted Philips . They sent him a different control box for free to take care of it. When I contacted the same guy at Philips he did mention that the Prius would have the same issues and that I could contact him when I purchased my kit and he would send the appropriate control box. Just wondering how it went with yours. By the way Tks for the photos, it looks great.

I like the idea but the color hue would be off for me. I need 6000k color hue, otherwise it would not match my current light setup for my HID's and Fog Lights.

Does anybody know if they come in 6000k?

Harry, I installed the 4 LEDs version, tapped inside the engine compartment fuse box, there are 3 empty constant 12v male blade available, use a volt meter to figure it out, you can plug into it, use a female blade you are set, since day one I installed it never a single time turn off during driving, the smart module learn and memorized the 12v battery voltage. I also just like you concern about the on/off issue, I am pretty happy with it and it's super bright. I did not use the feature when headlight on it turn off, I left it on even my head light are on, it give extra down the road illumination. Love it.

I installed the LED control module in the front next to the hood latch area. The hardest part is mounting the LED to the bumper, good luck. I paid $99 shipped from Ebay, Amazon is cheaper too.

Trabant, very nice installed. How do you mount the bracket? Did you use the dimmer wire for night time driving?

I took the entire bumper off, than I cut out the black plastic piece and screw the brackets in.

It wasn't easy to make them symmetrical took me a while to put them in.

I did use the dimmer wire; I figured with my fog lights and HIDs I have plenty of light already.

I tapped into the windshield washer power, my led lights newer flickers or turn off.

Hello nedear88. Tks for the information, last week I ordered the 4 led version from amazon for $93 with free shipping. Got them two days later. At the same time, I emailed the guy from philips and he sent me the 4 wire module for cars like the Prius for free. Now just gotta find time to install them.

    From an Amazon review:

"Fortunately Philips has an amazing individual here in the US who took care of all my problems. Michael Wolonson ([email protected]) discussed the issue with me on the phone and went ahead and sent me Philip's new control unit that addresses this issue by adding an extra wire that connects to the accesory fuse. In the S2000 there is actually are 3 empy power connectors in the fuse panel, one of which gets power when ignition switch is swithced to ACC. This is were I connected the blue wire using a female connector. Michael's customer service was absolutely impeccable and his dedication to making the customer happy is a rare thing nowadays."

Just a follow up on my install completed tonight. Instead of installing in the lower grill like I thought I wanted, I was concerned with aiming them properly. SO instead, I got lazy and installed them on the underside of the license bracket. Even though they are a bit close together, the actual install was super easy and if I screwed up, it's only a bracket. But after the install, I am very happy with the look.

Like nedear88 stated, he only used two wires, the ground and the power. Worked for me to. They are always on but do not interfere with the other lights and don't seem to annoy others so far. It appears you do not need the special module from Phillips.

Anyways it was an easy install and really worth it. Now I just have to remember not to turn on the headlights during the day.

I completed my install yesterday. Was pretty straightforward. I just wedged the brackets in between the 2nd and 3rd horizontal grill openings and used the solid portion of the grills as the far left and far right end points. I didn't worry too much about aiming (I had the bracket ends closest to the center of the car even with the grill and the outer edges pulled out to the first "tab" on the bracket. I did connect to the side marker light so they turn off when the headlights are on. Looks great! I have no received the new controll box from the contact at Phillips, but so far it does not look like they have shut off during operation.

Thanks to all for this thread!
