My HV batt. in my 06 135,000 mi. gave up. After scouring the web and contacting approximately 6-8 merchants of used parts with my dilemma of being a broke college student I got one reply from Brandon Marz at Morris Rose Auto Parts out of Michigan. He was nice enough to not charge for the shipping. So 750 bucks later it is enroute. The kicker is that I get a 90 day warranty!! Stay tuned for lotsa Questions on the teshnical forum since I want to refurbish the original. And a big THANK YOU to Mr, Marz and Morris Rose Auto Parts!!!
Sorry to hear about the hybrid battery. I see that you're in the SE US also. (I'm in Atlanta) My hybrid battery just failed at 142,000 miles. I decided to go with the reman battery from Hybrid Battery Depot in Pontiac, MI. It has a 12 month warranty. Good luck with the replacement. I video-taped the teardown of my '04 Prius but won't have the video up on Youtube for awhile until I get the reman battery next week and can videotape the new battery installation and re-assembly. -VR
Looking forward to the video. One is posted on youtube abotu the gen II, as far as removal/installation goes. Not the best quality but I found it helpful enough to view more than once. Until the replacement arrives I won't touch it regarding disassembly. as of now I am scouring the internet for the best prices on dc 6 chargers and transformers. And all necessary knowledge needed to bring the original pack back up to snuff.
