I've just returned from a late-night walk, where I discovered I'd left on the dome (interior ceiling) light in my 20-year-old car (soon to be replaced by a Prius cTwo!) about a half-hour previously. I thought: if I hadn't noticed my mistake, tomorrow morning the battery would probably be dead! Could this happen with a Prius c? Or is there a sensor that automatically douses any interior light(s) after, say, 15 minutes?
My wife took our Prius C and left the main head lights on at night and I noticed in the morning that the switch was left on, but luckly the lights had turned off by them self. The car started up fine too. Now, you do get a biping sound if you turn off the car and leave the head light on, but she didn't noticed that
^^ Are you sure that it beeps if the headlights are left on? That would be a step backwards. It should be a silent Auto-Off somewhere between 0 and 90 seconds after shutdown, like my regular Prius and even my late 20th Century non-hybrid.
It absolutely beeps if you've left the headlights on when you open the door to leave the car. The lack of auto off/on headlights is one of the major nitpicks people have had with the c. But, according to rioe's story, they apparently do turn off after some amount of time? It must be mentioned in the manual somewhere.

Wonderful, thank you Glad to have peace of mind that I won't drain the battery if I leave the headlights on.
PC turns everything of either in 15 or 20 mins. I was doing something in the car sometime ago, and I was listening my radio in the meantime. I didn't notice the exact time frame (it felt like 15-20 mins), but the message popped up in the main information screen saying the the power is turned off in order to save the battery.
Thanks, everyone. It's great to know that this car has a "brain" that will step in when we're a bit absent-minded.
