The irony being of course, that the C has a higher Cd than the Prius because it is too small...

I heard it's less aerodynamic, because it's shorter than the standard / traditional Prius cars.
We kinda like the shortness, since that makes it easier to park in the city and there's more space in our garage. :)
Plus, short gives it a sporty look. :D

Yes, it is the shortness that is increasing the Cd.

When you guys say 'Auto headlights off', i'm assuming you're talking about the DRL (Daytime Running Lights). I believe there's a setting that you can turn them off.

I assume "Auto headlights off (damn my 99 4runner had it)..." refers to the actual headlights.
My 2001 Chevy Prizm (a rebadged Corolla) had auto headlights and DRL. I never figured out where the sensor was - as soon as it started to get dark the headlights & all the other running lights turned on. When I parked and turned off the car the lights went out. Running my 1997 Prizm and I do miss that feature from the now dead 2001 Prizm.

I have the c4 and am totally in love it, but do miss a few things. My gripes are pretty much the same as everyone else's. I came from an '07 Prius 3 and miss the following:

    - automatic headlights
    - backup camera (so nice to use at night)
    - homelink
    - lighted vanity mirrors
    - storage in trunk at spare tire/wheel

I am sure that some (or all) of these things will be added in future releases of the car. Hopefully, that means a couple of the items will be able to be retrofitted at the dealer. Overall, I just love my Prius c and and glad that I waited to get exactly what I wanted. :)

    10. Sunglasses storage.
    11. Light in the front cabinet

I do miss the auto headlights that my Vue had. Many many cars these days have that so I am surprised that it doesn't. And as I said before- I hate that there is only one cup holder in the back. That makes no sense to me. There are four up front though I guess so I can pass the person's drink back to them whenever they are thirsty.

    Couple of notes:

A - Weather Tech does not yet make floormats and trunk mats for the C
B - A backup camera would have been nice (spoiled by my 2007 Prius)
C - Entune does not yet sync with my Lumia 710 Windows phone
D - Standard headlights are a bit dim, hi-beams are fantastic
E - EV mode and coast EV does not work for 5 minutes or so when the engine is cold
    F - Extra $40 a month in insurance
G - My dealer won't let me keep a rental car overnight and are not open on weekends (St Charles Toyota in IL)
H - The C is a bit narrow and cannot fit my fishing pole or gun case width wise in the trunk
I - The head rests need to be removed to fold down the seats
J - The C is not made in America, I would have liked to own a domestic car of this quality
K - There is a lack of different colors available at local dealers, these cars are in short supply
L - Cup holders are too far forward, under the dash
    M - My Toyota dealership uses Macs - I'm a pc

These are just notes. This is a spectacular car and I have no regrets about my latest purchase. You can't argue with 50-72 MPG average!

$40 a month extra in insurance! You need to shop around... Mine was only $7 a month!

I just got my Prius C this week (and I love it), but right away I was seeing things that should have been better on a Four. Needs lights on the vanity mirrors and electric adjustable drivers seat. I was excited for the softex interior, but in reality, my skin doesn't really touch the seat (and the interior feels more like vinyl than leather anyway). My left elbow spends a lot of time resting on that scratchy fabric stuff, I would like to have a more pleasant surface there.

the seatbelt buckle is quite high and very rigid. whenever i lean to my right, to reach into the glovebox for example, it sometimes digs into the side of my hips. i'd prefer it be lower and have a more flexible mount.

This only happens if you open the sunroof beyond the default open position and have all your other windows closed. So next time if you only want the sunroof open, press the open button once and don't press it a second time.

I miss the Rumble of a V8 when you turn the key. Stepping on the gas to clear out the duel Flowmasters. The neighbors car alarm going off when I would jump on it. The sound of the rear end breaking loose when I mash the peddle down to the floor.... BUT you just cannot argue with 79.8 MPG going to the market, 56.8 going to work 25 miles on the freeway. I've had a C3 with sunroof and alloy wheels in Gunmetal for about a month. It is our third Prius (2004, 172K miles: 2010, 20k miles.

    Here's the list:

    1) Way too cheap/hard plastics, three gazillion colors/textures, like driving a child's toy. Playful is one thing, tacky is another.
    2) two tone fabrics - light grey blue with squirelly pattern
    3) storage cubbies too small, not usable. Worst case is the upper bin that should have a cover
    4) lack of sunglass bin - use a polycarbonate case in forward cubbie - looks bush league
    5) after all this time and the addition of a multitude of screens, still no way to see water temp or oil pressure
    6) previously noted rear head restraint/vision issue. I've removed them. Low profile center restraint doesn't fit outboard postions
    7) excessive wind noise from right A post and antenna (?)
    8) excessive road noise
    9) location of cup holders denies access by taller containers
    10) miniscule center console. Increase in inner dimensions would alleviate low center arm rest issue
    11) ludicrous foam blocks in below decks area eliminate block use of very valuable storage space. Our German contributor mentioned that the rear deck had height adjustments. Would be interested in seeing the parts that make that possible
    12) GPS/apps lockout when moving is the height of nannyism. GPS sucks in comparison to current commercial alternatives, especially when you consider the price premium
    13) bluetooth interface renewal on startup should be automatic and not dependant on having the app running. Need more apps like access to true internet radio services/servers and gasbuddy
    14) OEM tires are subject to excessive understeer - scrub too easily in comparison to the taut suspension. Should be fixable with wider tread at the expense of mileage (BTW, I'm gettting aroung 50 MPG - first tank from dealer was short, I suspect)
    15) No Husky floor/cargo liners available yet. I finally broke down and bought the OEM cargo liner for $67 on E-bay
    16) rear wiper about 5 inches too short - anybody find an alternative ?

I don't know if this thread only applies to owners or also should include prospective buyers like myself. Here are some things that I don't like that make me think twice about picking up a C:

    1. rear seats don't fold flat
    2. two-tone fabric with rather light bottom or seat (does anyone else eat food in their car? I'd prefer the bottom to be darker)
    3. the two tone dash that goes along with the seats in model 2 and 3; I think the dash of the 1 and the 4 is more attractive
    3. blue accents in the 2 and 3 model; I find this further uglifies the 2 and the 3
    4. as a rather tall person, I wish the C were an inch or two taller; I'm over 6' 2", and I don't hit the ceiling with my head in driving position, but if I lean forward just a bit I do
    5. excessive markups/lack of discounts right now
