[attachmentid=1690][attachmentid=1691][attachmentid=1609][attachmentid=1610][attachmentid=1611][attachmentid=1612][attachmentid=1613] I have a nice A/V setup on my 2005 Prius: - Avelectronic switchbox with E-Code (4 A/V inputs and 4 A/V outputs + Backup camera) NO WIRE CUTTING - PURE PLUG and PLAY - Audiovox DVD player with S-Video output - Audiovox Headrests with Prius cloth. - Super TV-Tuner - Eclipse Backup Camera
Very nice. Did you install it yourself? Have any "war stories" about the install you would like to share?
TV Tuner. Is it NTSC or ATSC? NTSC is going away soon (as in 2006), so what is the point paying for NTSC feature?
This sounds really cool and I'm seriously debating buying this for my upcoming '06 Prius, but I find it pretty expensive. This capability seems like it should be relatively simple...does anyone else think so? Has anyone else seen anything comparable (maybe without all the extra inputs) for less?
The Avelectronic Switchbox is for $600, but remember no wire cutting is what you might be paying for + all 4 outputs are amplified with a strong signal and it has on top of the 4 A/V inputs 3 camera inputs (Rear, Left and Right). The Audiovox Headrest price was $950.00 but includes 3 year warranty The installation was $550.00 including tailored Prius cloth for the headrests
Maybe I'm a little confused. How does one switch between inputs using the Avelectronic.com product? On the factory installed camera it automatically switches when you're in reverse. Is this the case with your installation as well?
